So i bought my gsxr off a guy who had it on a track recently, and he didn't have any bar ends on it. I bought some bar ends, but can't figure how to get them to stay in. There doesn't seem to be anything inside the bar that the screw in the bar end will hold on to to keep it attached? I'm assuming the assembly is missing...

if so, where what is that called on the inside of the bar that holds the bar end in?

There's nothing for it to attach to so to speak. Bar ends have a rubber bushing on the end of them. When you tighten the bolt in the end of them it pulls up the rubber bushing causing it to expand and squeeze against the inside surface of the bar holding it in place.

Wow, we have a first on GDC.

Someone asked a question, and got a logical answer(with a picture) immediately without 50 guys flaming him.

Looks to me like i need something to screw into....
those look like frame sliders

i noticed this when i bought aftermarket yoshi bar ends. when i would tighten then screw up the rubber knob wouldnt expand enough to hold them in. fixed this with some liquid nails. coated the rubber with the liquid nails inserted into the handle bar, did up the screw and left it for a few hours. bar end stays in nice and tight but is able to be unscrewed when desired. the rubber knob will live in handle bars forever tho :)

as you screw the allen bolt the rubber expands and locks it into place:cheers

they're kawasaki bar ends dude

Where can you get the rubber piece for the ends to attach to? or Do the ones you purchase come with a rubber garment?
The bar ends i bought didnt come with the rubber bushing. Im going to swing by dealer im sure they carry it or can order it for a few bucks. My old one fell out somewhere no idea .

Edit: just got off phone with dealer will take about 4 days to get in, and cost about 10 bucks for the rubber expander nut and washer that the bar ends screw into
