i only have enough money for 82.:(
well go with Semi Synth then, you might be ok, and might save a couple dollars to get the full 84 quarts. But you really need full synth

Might as well buy a whole barrel - cheaper per quart and you have enough for next year too :)

so i should just ask the guy at the part counter for a 50 gallon drum of motul?:scratch
Yes. Make sure you get a hand pump to go with it - pouring directly from it sucks ass...

I assume one barrel to be 55gallons right, so that is 220 quarts. That is enough for a little over 2.5 years worth, but you would need to change your oil during the season next year, so yeah, that sounds like a great idea :banana

no shit........

I had a cool idea though. How about jsut drop the motor, and remove all the fill and drain plugs and such, and DIP your motor in the 55 gal drum :punk :cool

Then you could put the lid on it and not loose ANY of it for next year, youll just keep it as a motor dip tank :banana

Great idea :punk

Think of the possibilities - if you take the rest of the bike apart, most of it will fit in the barrel on top of the motor :punk

Acids build up in that fresh oil (remnants from previous usage) over 4-5 months of storage. Plus, oil intervals are commonly stated as 5,000km or 3 months (whichever comes first). It's good advice to dump it straight off next season, but at the very least shorten up the mileage interval and do it sooner than the 4-5k.

personally, I don't believe any of that. I realize acids remain from the previous oil, but they're diluted to the degree that they won't cause any harm over a couple months. and the 3 month thing is complete bs. what do you think happens to it? it's prob been sitting in the bottle on the store shelf for longer than that already. I change the oil in my bike AND my cars once a year and I've yet to have any sort of engine failure.

remember fellas, you should flush your engine once a year with distilled water and run it for about 2 minutes at about 6k rpm. It'll breakup any particals that is stuck inside the engine block. Best way to clean your engine.

lol

Attempt at your own risk if you want to have your engine lock up...
