Maybe a silly question, but it looks like on my bike the fuel tank is smaller than it could be and there is some plastic padding behind it. Is there a bigger tank that can be swapped in and fit the same profile?
Shame, I thought maybe there was a larger tank option for racing, e.g. TT and the like. The plastic padding under the tank is to keep it from vibrating on the air box i believe. These bikes hold 4 gals you wouldnt get much more even if you did a custom tank to fill that cusioned place. And the cost would be really stupid high up there
Mayb look into guys that build stunter tanks i'v seen them cut and weld and make custom ones for those guys
Yes, there are larger tanks available, but they are crazy pricey.Shame, I thought maybe there was a larger tank option for racing, e.g. TT and the like.
Wow $1500! I really wonder why they don't just fit a bigger tank as standard, it's not like there isn't space for one!Yes, there are larger tanks available, but they are crazy pricey.

Take your bike to a TT race team and let them blow your bike's tank.Wow $1500! I really wonder why they don't just fit a bigger tank as standard, it's not like there isn't space for one!
4.6gal or 17.4l.how many liters is our stock tank?
Why don't sports cars come with 200 liter fuel cells? Bigger tank also means bigger weight. You'll notice your stock tank is made out of steel, that aftermarket Beater endurance tank is made out of aluminum.Wow $1500! I find it hard to believe there much weight difference when empty, perhaps it's a trick to make the weight including fuel less. Why don't sports cars come with 200 liter fuel cells? You could always write to Suzuki and tell them "why don't you just fit a bigger tank as standard, its not like there isn't space for one." :thumbup
Weight difference is huge between a full tank and an empty tank, and plays a huge role in how the bike handles and behaves, especially at the track.I find it hard to believe there much weight difference when empty, perhaps it's a trick to make the weight including fuel less.
Actually what would really help is to make the fuel light start flashing later, it's so annoying once it's on I just have to fill up :frown2:

I'm getting around 140 miles before the light starts flashing on my L4 in town, most likely I could get 170/180 before running out totally.Even if you get the bigger Endurance tank (like I have on my K6), if your out with your mates, you still refill at the same time. Besides the fuel consumption on my L5 is mega, can get 200 miles before it runs out!
Best I've had is 155 before the light whilst touring around Europe and worse 120, but still not bad. About the same as my K6 with an endurance tank.I'm getting around 140 miles before the light starts flashing on my L4 in town, most likely I could get 170/180 before running out totally.
Maybe, but I think the 0-100 is sadly lackingThis might be better suited for you:
