Yup, judging by what I can see in those pictures, still looks like a death trap. Glad nobody in your group ended up hurt. Glad you had fun too. :cheers

Get OUT from behind your windscreen.. :)
If you drop your head to the side a bit more, you will be able to carry SO MUCH MORE speed at the same lean angle in the turn.

I know it takes time, but it really can help you a lot...

Dont worry Lean, it really comes with time. You also have to be willing to slow down a bit and get yourself comfortable with a different way of riding.

If you can get someone to follow you and video you so you can review at the end of the session, you might be shocked how different you look from what you feel like. lol I know I was. :)

yea it just so happens now, I'm in the same situation on the track that am on the street. When we all ride together, I'm too slow for the fast guys and too fast for the slow guys. So on the track - I spend a lot of time by myself once all the track riders get that separation. This is also clearly evident on the vids. So getting footage would mean I'd either have to ride slower or get bumped to the next level and ride WAY faster to keep up :biggrin

One of yout 'gang' wont take 3 or laps out of the day to help you get better?
We are always a big supporter of spending time trying to help others get better. :) Maybe ask one of them.. you never know.

lol yea I'm sure they would. One guy in advanced wants to ride his stock 250 in beginner group with me to show me it's not the bike...it's the rider :lol

I also think I need to go 1 up and 1 back with my rearsets - but for that I will need adjustable rearsets. In order for me to weight the outside peg, it kind of limits me on how far I can get off the bike.

oh man - there was a 12 year old kid out there riding in the intermediate/advanced group - KILLING people.....on a NSR 50 (loud 2 stroke bike) this kid was simply amazing. I think it was called a NSR 50.

Those 50s are sick.

But for the rear sets, dont let that make you feel like it is stopping you. I am still on stock rear sets and can get a nice lap time in. You just need to find what works for you.

If you want to go cheap, you can use adapter plates (for first gen SV650) and your stock assembly and you might find a position you like. I still stand behind Woodcraft rearsets, for traction with boots, crash-ability, durability, and re-use of stock parts if you get in a pinch.

yea I'm shopping around. My shifter is very loose and the tech mentioned it to me at tech in...said if a more seasoned tech were looking at my bike, he'd fail me. I have no idea how to tighten it, I see no bolts. It's the part you use to actually shift gears...it's loose where it fits on the peg.

not sure looking at the fiche, that looks like the washer thats on the shaft, between the shifter and the footpeg plate. what is usually found on the oem shifter is a super thin brass woven bushing with the outsides folded up to act as a shim on the outside too...kinda like a u-shaped cross section, comprende?

its so cool to see you progressing. and i bet riding the smaller bike would be a hell of a lot of fun. how do you like that new screen? i was thinking abou getting a double bubble from that company. just wondered how you thought it compaired to other screens.

I have thought, do the OE part be milled out and a needle bearing installed? Not sure there is enough room to fit it, but would be nice to fix the issue.
