You'd like to think so, but the Darwin's aren't given out every year for ingenuity and genius, are they? Guy's a selfish dumbphuck if he's more concerned w/ getting the bike back than the safety of his kid. Guy has no common sense... absolutely none. After being in the ARmy for 11 years -- and commanded in a deployable artillery battalion -- I've seen guys like this before, and taken their time, rank and money for acts on par w/ this... when we caught them.
