And FWIW, the really rough part is from when the tire started to give up (when the compound starts losing grip). The tire was more worn on the right from that track and started spinning up out of all the sharp rights :wait That made it look like that

chicken strips on stock tires are nothing to be ashamed of if you have never taken it to the track before. (unless they are more than an inch or so on either side):hammer
just realize that the capabilities of the stock tires, or any aftermarket ones for that matter, far exceed the capabilities of the average rider. what i am saying is that the stock tires on pretty much every streetbike made can be taken to the edge without too much danger of them breaking loose as long as throttle usage is correct and the road conditions can support them.

No need for new tires man, just lay that bitch over!! unk

i think its just more of a confidence thing with me as far as tires go. when i had a six hundo i was the same way on the stockers i had about a 1/4 inch then i threw a pair of d207rr's on it (yea it was a long time ago:lol) and i had it maxed out as soon as they were broken in.

I have avon azaro II's on my gsxr and they're friggin horrible for feedback, and I now have 8-9mm on each side of the rear (I measured a few weeks back and remember) with just average road use, no real pushing of the bike due to unsmooth fuelling issues. When I got the bike it had about an inch each side.. hmy
Can't wait to get some dunlops on it. Loved 'em on every bike I've owned!

No wat ever strips on the back ,actually get right on the edge at times without dramma , and like 1/4 in. in the front from the edge ,pro corsa's sc2's are the shit , get hooked up 31psi. front 30 rear. ride safe

I cleared my rear ones on the street, i didint even had to work hard for it they automatically went away after couple spirited(!!!) canyon runs with my buddies , i had to take it to the track the clear the strips on the front though. If you are cleaning your front strips on the streets is not very safe.

here's my strippage on my new Diablo Corsa III after I returned home from a N. GA Mtn Run Sunday... Wish I had my camera with me before the superslab ride home burnt off the scrubbed up rubber. Forgot to take pics of the front, less than 1/4" of unused rubber on each side. Still no knee dragging yet as I need some pucks, my darn leathers didn't come with any so I keep those buggers tucked in.

Why is that? I have cleared the fronts and have about an 1/8 on the rears and thats all street, never been to the track yet. Rear is also upted to the 190 instead of the stock 180. Asking because I'm curious, this is my first season and I only have about 4k miles under my belt. Tires are brand new m1's also f&r.
