Okay for a start i have changed every single fuse on the bike i don't know how to read a multi metre or check voltages ive been riding bikes for 20 years since i was 6 i can strip a bike and rebuild it in 24 hours but i cant do wires my mates always do that .. All parts i get for cheap off a mate who owns a Suzuki dealership so its not a problem replacing parts .. I have downloaded the Haynes manual and been reading lots .. Still cant test wires coz i don't know how .. As i said my mates do electrics i don't .. It turns over but doesn't spark read manual change spark plug caps CHANGED THEM replace cdi or rectifier CHANGED THEM .. replace spark plugs CHANGED THEM .. Change coil CHANGED IT.. maybe signal generator i don't know i cant do wireing ive had enough of the bike

Bit of a worry that you've changed the plug caps and the coils as they are the same thing on your bike??

You also say that you know it isn't sparking as you put your finger on the spark plug, surely you'd get better results grounding it to the frame or cases???

If you friend is good enough to sell you all these parts cheap, he will likely give you a good price on half an hours labour for 1 of his mechanics to test the wore that runs from the ecu to the coil plugs.

Ship me the bike and i will take it off your hands. You dont care enough to read and figure out how read your meter you just want someone else to do it for you. Keep throwing $ at the problem i dont know why that wouldnt fix the issue.

Haha no .. All the caps that connect to the spark plug housing things i swapped off a different wiring look only takes 10 mins to cut strip and re fit .. But i have been reading the manual and have volts running to spark plug cap things and could .. And the coil was new off my mate but as i said i put it on tested it but it wasn't the problem so i gave it back he is making me do it my self to learn i ride a kmx125 and have done for 6 years i can sort all that but a gsxr is sooooo different to anything i have ever done that's y it doesn't matter what i change and fix as in learning to do it my self .. Parts are cheap off him like 5 pound for a cdi and 10 for coil a free wiring loom .. A couple of pound for diodes. Its not a problem to pay for stuff im not short of cash lol .. Its a project that i have to do my self .. I only payed 500 for it and its in great condition .. Just wont spark that's all i read in manual if no spark it says if poor spark or none change spark plug caps or ignition coil so i changed apart from the ignition coil ..defective spark plugs ive changed .. And defective signal generator or cdi ... Don't know where the signal generator is located so looking for that ..

And also no ive used the multi metre i clearly explained i don't know what volts and currents ate suppose to run to each wire and that's y i don't know how to do it .. Ive been out and checked what i can and it seems to be working what ive tested but again in not sure where the problem is its not i cant be bothered to read and learn ITS BEEN 2 DAYS since ive started reading about a mulit meter and the Haynes manual there's like 426 pages and i have to scroll each page as i use a phone to read and reply to this aswell as a pdf app ive only got a 7 inch screen its kind of hard

Your out of your scope man. Your not testing the charging system, you don't give two shits if theres 12volts at the bat or 14volts coming from the stator. You want the damn thing to spark and start the engine. ...... :suicide ....

Your not testing current or wiring a house or tinkering with small electrics. You should be testing for shorts and breaks. I explained how to do this. There is no reading volts or probing for some nonsense. You just want to know if a isolated wire touches another wire or if its broken on the other end.

I mean hell, I linked a video even for ya on a idiot doing it on his car. You got the wiring diagram now.... Dunno of any other way to help ya with this unless I just did it for ya. :dunno

Take your bike to a shop or sell it for a huge loss as I bet your bike would run with about 1hr of tinkering from someone who knows what their doing.

i will read the thread, look at the service manual and reply tonight and post up some info. have to but bushings in the front end of a car first. fyi ditch the haynes crap and get the actual service manual.

ok so the power flows from the battery-ignition switch-fuse -sidestand- kill switch then to the cdi. the wire to the cdi is o/w orange with a white tracer line. so you have a meter so you have a black lead and a red lead. set the meter to 20 volts dc then put the black lead on the battery earth and start checking for voltage. i would start at the O/W at the cdi. if you have power at the cdi then there is 2 other options. the cdi maybe blown or you need to look at the key switch. the key switch has a resistor in it. when the key is on power goes from the switch threw the resistor to the cdi. the voltage is lower then 12v so for argument sake lets say less then 10v. if the cdi doesnt get this less then 10v it will not fire the plugs. if your cdi is shot then dont put someone elses cdi on your bike as you may fry it also. it would be better if you put your cdi on another bike and the coil sticks too.

i find it hard to believe that all your coils are fried but they are wired in series 1 and 4 as a pair and 2-3 as a pair. if you had say number 1 and 2 stick fried or an issue with the harnesses you may have no spark. you can test the coil sticks with your meter in the ohm range. by checking for resistance threw the windings of the coils. basically pull the stick out of the bike and put the meter leads on the 2 pins in the coil stick where the loom plugs into the stick.

sorry for the late reply as the subaru is being a pita. it took most of the day to change all the bushings on one side of the rear axle with the help of a 2 year old lol.

did this bike run before the battery fiasco or are you dealing with someone elses problem. i would suggest as you disconnect plugs on the loom to spray them with contact cleaner and pack them with dielectric grease.

oh yes the other issue some people have is the pickup inside the engine the signal generator gap is to wide so the cdi does not get a good signal from the crank position sensor or signal pickup. you can take the side cover off and move the signal generator closer to the trigger wheel to get a better signal. need more coffee but there is some things to ponder over

Sorry for not replying i have been busy ar work and on the bike ... I have got a full working wiring loom and put it on the bike and took it all apart to check for splits or grounding out ..nothing... I have changed the signal generator this is on the right hand side under the magnet for the timing settings i have re-allined the starting positions as the Haynes manual stated . I have replaced the side stand switch .. The clutch switch .. The engine kill switch .. The cdi .. Recitfier .. Signal replay box fuse box solanoid all fuses .. Stator ... Battery .. All indicators flash front light works full beams work horn works rear break lights work everything works apart from no spark i went and bought 4 new spark plugs 9.99 each for the high performance ones .. But again still no spark .. I have been working hard on checking all ac dc and volts and resistance on all the cables but all show the correct figures as the manual states .. An to the guy a few messages back its not i cant be arsed i didn't know how and this site is suppose to be for bikers and Suzuki owners that help another bike rider not take the piss out of for not knowing how to read a multi metre because umm well ur reply didn't help at all tbh ... Anyway... I think the only few things i have to check or change is the barrel i have taken it off and tomorrow before i go work ill take it apart and see if its okay and teat it but will order a new one on the weekend as 3 of my mates cant work it out and 2 mechanics i have had here looking as well both work on bikes and are stuck as well .. As i said i got this bike on the 17 8 2013 and been working so so hard to sort it i have 3 other bikes and a quad so i know what im doing but it wont spark so that's where ive got to and what's changed so kind of need help off some one like the guy above thanks for the tip on the ignition switch ....
