I fitted an RL Annitori Quickshift on my K6 GSXR 1000 recently, what a fantastic piece of kit!
As Oncam said, running mine on the Red LED; on the Yellow LED, I found I would get the occasional missed shift on the 1st to 2nd, due to not having a solid pull on the lever.

I'm from Australia, and I can't speak highly enough of the service & back up from Paul and the guys at Annitori. I don't reckon you could buy a better unit than this for $280; it's beautifully made, simple to install, and it just works!
I'm sure there are other good units, but as a stand alone unit; this was far cheaper than any other unit I could find. Every other unit I looked at needed additional equipment, and extra cost.

This is the route I would take if I get a QS... I was looking at the QS made by dyno-jet, but you have to buy 2 moduals the sensor then the freaking rod links too... WTF is that? I think it came out to $340 bucks!! I have heard nothing but great things about this kit... I know Motomummy says the Bazzaz is the smoothest, but I have not heard the other brands he tried out and I am not too sure if he tried HM either.

I have the RL quick shifter also and it cuts the ignition coils at any RPM, even at idle. If I sit still and have the clutch in and bike in first, and keep pushing on the shift lever I can hear the engine cut out. Sometimes, when the engine is very cold and I shift from neutral to first the engine stalls because of the cut out.

Two ways around the "dead cold" engine question:

1) start the bike in first gear, then by the time you ride down the street and thru the gears it will be warm enough to be out of "start" mode and the shifter will operate normally.

2) Blip the throttle a bit on that first cold shift, and there will not be any problem until your bike warms us.

We are assuming once warm, everything is fine?

Finally got around to installing mine. Only have one ride on it so far (to a buddies house and back).

First impressions;
1. So far shifts pretty smooth
2. not sure how I feel about it being threaded for both left and right handed thread. Usually that significantly weakens the threads, and it is aluminum. Threads felt pretty loose as well. I guess we'll see if anyone has a problem with that
3. Not sure I like that it kills spark at any speed/rpm whether I shift up or down. Part of what is nice about this thing is that it is VERY simple to install, and is totally standalone. That also seems to make it a dumb piece that can't track rpm etc. I'll probably get used to it, but it is weird to hear it make the engine miss any time I shift (fishing for neutral at a stop etc.).

I'll report back more after riding it a bit. So far it does seem to shift very smooth.

Does this sensor have a 2 wire setup?

Im in need of the SENSOR ONLY... I have the EmPro so the quick shift is built into the ECU..i just need to sensor so i can hard wire it into my side stand switch (which is 2 wires)

Yes, it is two wire, but this is not a "switch", this is a Strain Gauge sensor which means you need very special digital processing controls to "read" the sensor.

Best we know it will not work in your application... Sorry!

Can the strain gauge be hooked up to the kickstand switch? That would eliminate the FI light on the old bikes.
No, sorry would not work with the RL or the PLUS.

Do you have a Power Commander on your bike? The HM PC would be a solution then...

We HAVE to figure out a way to get you a shifter one of these days! We think it is just about time for that BRAND NEW 600 in your garage! :)

I finally got a little time to put a few miles on, and got to play with this shifter a little. It was irritating me that it would cut spark downshifting and at low speeds/stoplights etc, and I noticed exiting right hand corners under hard acceleration, the engine was missing occasionally. I thought maybe sensitivity was too high on the shifter, and maybe my boot was hitting it or something, so I changed the sensitivity to the red light as per the instructions. First ride with the sensitivity set to the red light, it would not shift at all without the clutch (on my way to work). On my way home, it started cutting in and out like crazy on the freeway, and I wasn't sure I would get it home. Eventually it quit doing that, and then the shifter started working. :banghead I checked all of the wiring/hardware, and everything is totally correct. I removed it, and bike runs flawlessly. Re-installed it, and weird cut out shit started happening again. Bummer. I had high hopes for this thing.

Anyone else have any issues like this? According to their website, they almost never ever have a bad unit. Am I the lucky one, or is the website full of shit? Thoughts? If it is truly an anomaly, I will try to get it replaced. If this is a trend, this thing is going in the trash.

PS I did read the troubleshooting guide on the site, and I made sure everything is loose where it should be, tight where it should be, and wiring has never been too tight etc. I also concentrated on where my feet where during my test ride to make sure I was not accidentally hitting it. Thoughts?
