So I have the L1 GSXR750. I have not done a Dyno before mods, and at the moment aftert he few mods I have done I still did not get it on the Dyno. But I will coming up in 2013. i currently have AKRapovic full system, KNN race filter and Flashed ECU by Flash-Tune INC.

What are some inexpensive mods i can do without getting inside the motor for work? and If some minor motor mod which is not going to kill my pockets what can I do? Im looking for HP and Torque gain, What do you think a +1 or +2 rear sprocket will do? any significant power gain?

This is my 4th bike, and i have never really looked into mods more then a filter and Slip ons. my 1st GSXR, and my other 3 bikes were the CBR 600RR...

Opinions? Recommendations?
Thanks

If you need a rear sprocket, go +3 in the back.

If you don't need new sprockets, go -1 in the front, as it's much cheaper.

Alternatively, -1 in the front and +2 in the back is popular, but I haven't done that myself.

So I'd just go -1 in the front, if you like how it feels but want more, go +2 in the back as well.

I'd go -1 in the front first, as it's cheap to do. This will make the bike feel like it's got more power.

If you like that and want more, then you can additionally go +2 in the back.

-1 in the front and +2 in the back is a pretty common gearing. It should give you the feel you're looking for. :cheers

Besides switching to a full system and retuning, regearing is your best option for power - according to a throttle/rear dyno.

Without breaking into the engine there's only so much that can be done, of meaningful value. For the most part you'd just be chasing dyno scores and not meaningful riding difference - power wise.

Gixxers are way too high geared from the factory I dropped 2 on the front (no smaller than a 15 tooth) and it made a real difference. It is still not as low geared as a stock cbr or r6 though. Other than that drop weight (you and the bike if poss) and practice riding. www.gearingcomander.com will let you play around with gearing and compare to other bikes.

I would just get a 1000.
Honestly, that is the only way. It is just a waste of money to get a few hp, if you are not racing in a 750cc class. I have a full system, custom tune, cams etc. and it is nothing compared to a stock 1K. I really wish I could go back in time and bought tires instead of so called "performance mods". :banghead :lmao

and please dont go saying for me to get a 1000 Lol
Inexpensive = waste of time

i.e. don't waste your time and money. It's more than likely that skill (not HP) is what is a hindrance to your riding experience.

You'll spend more money than the difference in cost to a 1000, and you'll still be making less power. So at the end of the day what was the point?

$2500 for porting and headwork
$800-1000 for cams
$1000+ on a full exhaust system
$80 on an air filter
$250 on vstacks
$250 for a PCV or ZFI
$300 for custom mapping on a dyno

So after ~$5,500-6,000 you might be making close to 150hp (about 10-15 less than a 1000) and will have paid alot more in doing it. Not to mention all the downtime with your motor dropped out and shipped to the builder.

Not only that, but while you may have 150 hp, almost as much peak power as a 1000, your midrange and low end power still won't be close.

No replacement for displacement

Tyrs has a point, if you can't outrun him, outride him.

4 short stock stacks in the airbox will help top end but loose mid. They will go well and be comparable with a 1000 on track but you have to get into the motor.
