I have been going for a month now and tht is the first time they didnt warm me up. I only have three more therapy sessions. My arm is strong except for side to side motions and lifting it straight out and up. If I lift it out at a 45 degree angle and then up there is no pain. I have definitely lost muscle in my delt. I hope with time it will strengthen back up but they won't guarantee it
Yea, doctors and PTs can never "guarantee" results. It may have been a random ROM Test (range of motion), to see what your progress is.

Sounds like you've made some decent progress though! The muscles atrophied pretty significantly, but a lot of that will come back! Just be smart!!

speaking of . . . I talked to my brother some about the accident for the first time ever the other night. I think it might have scarred him worse than me . . . but he was only 10 at the time. He was outside when it happened & basically got left alone when they hauled ass with me . . . he said the sound of the mower getting my feet was the worst noise ever - he actually shuddered & changed the subject.

Yea, be patient!! Keep doing what they have you doing. After you're done with rehab, maybe I can throw some ideas your way. One piece of advice, make sure once you're on your own, you keep strengthening all the muscles in & around the shoulder. You don't want any imbalances in strength.

Yeah, he also said that he went to the mower after they had left . . . it was still on its side & he went to right it for some reason (he doesn't know why himself) - he said "my feet still in the blades was pretty gruesome but there wasn't much blood as you'd think". He didn't go to the neighbor because he knew that someone would come back to the house for him.

I feel horrid for the child he was :(

See thats one problem

I have my orthopedic telling me I can go back to working out and the therapist kinda hinting to not wirk out. I feel like as long as I am not using my deltoid I can do what I want.

And I only have three more visits(one per week) with the therapist.
