So you're turning the right side of the axle...you want the left side to sit still... Think about that really hard for a sec. Notice you have the axle pinch bolts loosened on both sides. Perhaps maybe you should tighten the pinch bolts on the side that you want to stay stationary? Then loosen them back up when you've got the axle out and are ready to remove the spacer.

Just a stab in the dark

yeah, yeah, yeah, smart asses.

i tried it with the pinch bolt tightened, but it didn't work. i think the previous owner put some kind of loc-tite but i just thought i would ask here in this forum before i proceed.

it took you the same amount of energy to type your smart ass remarks as it would have to just help.

If it is then that's a shit load of perm loctite. The only way to break that much red loose is not just a heat gun ... you'll need a propane torch. Just take it slow and don't melt the aluminum. What kind of moron would loctite a front axel?

- Tighten with pinch bolts
- Hold onto the outter ring with vice grips or channel locks
- Propane torch ONLY the centre axel in from outter edge to 1" down the axel
- Have someone else always applying pressure to the other side and only heat until the whole thing turns ... then don't stop turning but do stop heating.
