HD motor as aircraft motors, na that can't be right, I would believe that they would be ideal in the marine industry, ( great boat anchors)

i saw a sled with an hd motor..it seemed like the guy had a hard time getting it moving from a dead stop, but aside from that it went fine..maybe the gearing wasnt set up to low enough handle all the resistance of a track..i know im off topic here, that just came to my head

i wouldnt fly a plane whose engine sounded like
bra bra bra bra bra bra bra
and all the mechanic said it was suppossed to sound that way
no loopy idle for me thanks

They are mounted sideways

Apparently they worked pretty well.

Have you heard any WWII aircraft idle? I wouldnt trust those based on sound either.

Its a torque thing - its about how hard the prop pulls not how fast it spins. Harleys have the tractor thing down
