Need your help! The FI light would come on and finally the bike got to a point where I coulnd't ride it a few miles without it shutting off. I limped it to the dealer and the c46 code popped up. They changed the oil and adjusted the SET valve. They test drove it and the FI light was off so I go and pick it up.

As I'm riding home it dies again! I was lucky to be able to limp it back to the dealer right before they closed. They checked the code and now it's c11!! :hammer

They want to take it apart tomorrow. Before they do...any suggestions??

Stopped by the dealer and they have not figured out what's wrong with it. They said they couldn't get it to throw the same code and they checked everything and made sure there were no loose connections. They want to keep it another day to figure it out.

Once the bike is on there is no FI light, after a minute the RPMs start bouncing around and then it dies.

Hope to get it back for the weekend. Thanks for the replies.

Very interesting. C46 would not cause the bike to die. Maybe rob you some HP at best. Unless of course the valve was all the way stuck closed, which I doubt since all they did is adjust it, not replace a servo.
Then again C46 can pop up at anytime when you trunt he key on and go away again. I am thinking bad luck to see the C46 that moment. Keep in mind C46 only comes on during calibration, befor eyou start the engine. So if you were riding and then the FI light came on, I am pretty sure it was not a C46 code.
Interesting also that there were no other codes.

I was able to ride it a couple miles without any light , then all of a sudden it died. I tried starting it and it would not start unless I revved it. I started riding it back to the shop and the FI light came back on. I pulled in and shut it off. After it was put in dealer mode and started it the c46 code popped up but they could never get it to come back.

Like I said. C46 comes on only when you turn the key during calibration. Not later, unless the servo seizes.
So they got code 46....it was just bad luck, a bad calibration. In fact the codes reset if you turn the bike off. I can't believe they let you do that. They should have kept it running and check the codes....they know better.
See what I mean? The first FI light has nothing to do with the light they got when they started it back up. Just a bad calibration, that is why they could not get the C46 again. Plus C46 has nothing to do with the bike dying.

Stopped by the dealer after work. According to them, they hooked up a laptop and downloaded some software from Suzuki to find out exactly what the bike is doing. They were able to get the c11 code to come on after having the bike warm up to around 200 degrees. Then the RPMs dance around and the bike dies. They think it might be the camshaft position sensor getting faulty when the bike warms up so they are ordering a new one and they will get it next week!

I asked him if the idle was too low and he said it has nothing to do with the idle.

This is getting really frustrating. I don't understand the bike well enough to know if they have any idea as to what they're talking about.

The bike is out of warranty.

UPDATE: It's been two weeks since the dealer has the bike and still no end in sight. Last week they tried a new position sensor and it did not solve the problem. They swapped out the ECU and it did not solve the problem. Now they want to order a wiring harness and rewire the entire bike. They called the local Suzuki rep last Thursday to see if they will honor a "good-will warranty" on the bike since it only has 3400 miles and it pretty much stock. Otherwise they want to charge about $1K for parts and labor!

It's been three days with no call from Suzuki. I had to give up my slot for a track day and now I just sit and wait at the mercy of the dealer!
