Take off your tip over sensor, shake it around, and put it back on. It's on the very back of your subframe right in front of your tail light location, you'll have to take off the tail plastic.

what does the TOS look like..

 

It's the only thing on the very back of the sub frame. It's got a three pin connector coming out the right side of it (when looking from behind the bike)

Do you get a FI light when you try to start your bike?

 

yes it just stays on

 

Remove your front seat, find this connector and jump the two pins shown with a wire or a paperclip when you see the FI code. Now it will display a code that says "CXX" on your guages. If that comes back and says C23, then it's your TOS. I'm betting it's going to say C23 and you just need to play with it a little bit to reset it

 

it wont even go into dealer mode. i'm doing exactly as you say. when i turn the key.. it just displays "--" then the temp goes on. no codes displayed. I'm bypassing the the red/white to the black/wht... is that correct

 

nm... got it.. it says no codes.. what should i do now..

 

You have to make the FI light come on before you put it in dealer mode. Try to start the bike until the FI light comes on. When it comes on, THEN put it in dealer mode

 

hey thanks a lot for your help. I tried everything you said. No codes showed up. I took off the TOS and shook it around but still not starting. i even tried to unplug the batt to restart the system. I didnt want to take it in and get charged for something so stupid so if you can think of anything.. pls let me know.. Thanks again.

 

One important factor here I didn't think about at first... is the starter turning and it's just not firing? Or is the starter not turning at all?

 

its not firing at all. when i try to start it, the headlights just get dim

Check the clutch safety switch. If it fell on the left side ,it's possible that got damaged. There's a little plastic switch that the clutch lever should be releasing when you pull the clutch in. You'll see two little wires going up to the bottom of the clutch lever perch leading to where the switch should be.

 

just checked it and the blk pin comes out when i clutch it and goes in when released...

 

Did your clutch lever get bent? Or damaged?

 

Hmm... :scratch is the fuel pump priming when you turn on the key?

 

i dont see anything unusual. the pin goes in when i release the clutch and it comes out when i clutch it..

 

the tip of the clutch broke off and the lever is slightly bent, but not that bad. and the fuel pump sounds normal. When i turn the key.. i can hear the valves opening or something, but when i try to start it, no noise at all

 

Just for shits and giggles, try unplugging the clutch safety switch and connect those two wires with a paperclip or a wire and try to start it... Maybe the bent clutch is just not releasing that pin quit far enough
