You will have to take the motor apart. Get a manual and some tools if you want to keep the bike. Or just find a used motor. I would rebuild if I were you.

There's the video, I'm planning to rebuild. I'm just trying to see what exactly some experienced folks might have in mind as to what could be wrong.

 

I dont know what it could be sounds a little like the cam chain.

 

Dont run it anymore, thats for sure. Take it to a skilled mechanic for inspection.

 

Most in my area won't touch it without being guarunteed they'll be able to do the work. $50-80 an hour is something I'm trying to avoid if I can.

 

If you don't have the knowhow to find the issue, and maybe related issues, don't attempt to fix it. you'll most likely fuck up even more.

Honestly, start looking around for a low mileage engine - will likely be cheaper and definitely a lot easier than rebuilding.

havent watched the video but sounds like you have some rod/crank bearings gone. Even if you got a used motor you still have to pull the old one. Pull it out, have it checked, and if rod and mains are your only issue, bam, dump some new ones in,blueprint it and your done. Its not hard just take your time.

 

Cheaper to buy a good low mileage engine than diagnose/rebuild what you have. Dont take this the wrong way;but if you have to ask on a forum "whats wrong with my bike" you simply dont have the skills to rebuild your engine and have it be cost effective.

 

I wouldn't be looking for another motor if I were you, no matter how rich I would be without first knowing what is the problem. Gixxer engines aren't super rocket science, just look at the manual and you'll see what I mean. Get a pair of good friend hands and good luck
