GSXR 600 Top speed Question

Im curious if someone can tell me if this is possible.

I can keep up with my cousin and his buddies who ride for a living with 929's and 1000's.
Yet I have an 01' GSXR 600.
Now the guy before me put the full Yosh pipe kit as well as fuel injectors and a sprocket on.

Now here is my question, I have hit a top speed on my speedometer of 184 mph.
( before I chickened out and slowed down. )
Is this possible? And is there a way to accurately check this top speed?

I read somewhere you can check it somehow with a GPS unit.

No, it's not even near possible and yes a hand held GPS like the Garmin E-Trex series taped to the upper triple will show your true speed. They aren't even that expensive anymore.

No way you went that fast. I've ran mine up to an indicated 164...maybe could have wrung a few more mph out of it. Speedo is probably off by 5% I figure.

Speedo error is closer to 15%. They are intentionally "off" from the manufacturer so you can think you are more of a badass then you really are.
