Anyway to check numbers on engine? Bought an 89 and wanna make sure its a 750 slingshot. Someone has ground the 749/748cm off the side of motor? Not sure why someone would do that? Still has the serial numbers but should I be worried? Checked frame Vin and came back clear. Any info would be great

What are the numbers from the upper engine case, right side top inboard of the clutch cover?

Well after being a lil freaked out :scared that I might have a Katana motor in my gixxer I did some searching and found www.ozebook.com/compendium/suzi/engine-nos/engnos.htm that had engine prefixes and to my relief prefix R708 is under the 89 750K models
