New here and am going crazy trying to figure out what to do. I'll give you a little history and some questions at the end.

I bought a used 06 GSXR 600 which came with a power commander and Jardine GP-1 exhaust. The map is the stock one from the dyno website. When I first bought the bike it seemed a little rough on the low rpm but it felt like it was just the nature of the beast. However, out of nowhere it seemed to have become a lot worse. From idle until about 5k RPM, the bike hesitates and just sounds rough in general. Once I hit the sweet spot the bike just takes off and purrs like a loud..ummm...yetti?

I'm aware that the bike should be tuned on a dyno. I'm hesitant to do this because I don't want to spend $300 bucks to do this and find out it's not the problem so I'm trying to eliminate things before I take that step.

So far I've tried the following with the power commander tools:
downloaded and resent the map that matches my bike and exhaust
downloaded and resent the stock map for my bike
downloaded and resent the zero map
turned off Accel Pump
reset throttle position

All of the above seemed to have an impact one way or another but nothing really took away the hesitation. It's seems worse when I'm only slightly on the throttle. 2 to 5% of throttle (maybe a little more). My throttle sensor numbers according to the power commander is like 8000 closed and I forget the WOT but I want to say around 23k.

Questions:
Does changing these TPS values within the power commander override having to put the bike into dealer mode and adjust there?
Can anyone tell me what their TPS closed and wot numbers are? Just curious if these seem accurate or within range to what would be expected for this bike.
Can I bypass the power commander by just plugging in the two connectors that are under the rear seat or does the entire installation have to be removed?
Should I enable the accel pump again?

I've basically decided that today I'm going to put the stock exhaust and map back on and see if that makes a difference. If it does, I think it's pretty safe to say it's just a tuning issue. At which point I'll probably just buy a shorty slip on. I'm not a huge fan of the look of the Jardine. I could then get the bike professionally tuned. I'm ok with spending the money on something that will help. I just don't want to spend it on something that may not even be the problem. From everything I read on this site and this thread, it sounds all to familar so part of me is leaning to this being a TPS setting. I just don't know how to handle it with the power commander. I am assuming if you adjust it in the power commander you don't need to touch anything else?

Any input and advice would be greatly appreciated!

ps. I'm going to change the plugs today as well.

Here is a video that may help. This isn't me or my bike but the take off sounds just like what I hear...except mine is way louder. lol

Someone with PC experience will be along shortly, I'm sure but please follow forum etiquette and post a thread in the Starting Line sub forum and tell us about your riding experience, bikes you've owned, what kind of riding you do, classes / schools / track days, if any etc....

And post PICS of your bike! We all like pretty pictures.

Well after being frustrated for the past week, the problem seems to be running leak. The plugs didn't look too bad, we replaced them. I also checked the TPS in the power commander as well as the bike in dealer mode. Everything looked good.

Started the bike up... Let it warm up... Drove off..... It's fixed! Rode for over an hour and it was smooth as can be. Power when 8 needed it. No hesitation. So now Im confident the bike is in desperate need of a dyno. Appt will be made Tomorrow!

Hopefully it still runs good tomorrow lol

Just as a reference using zero map on the power commander will disable the unit. In short terms will make the bike use the stock ecu settings and not reading from the power commander.
Please describe, what does rough mean?
