I did a search... Also searched thru most of the site sponsors... On akra's site it shows an evolution dual full system.. And I can't find anything else about it on here or for sale at any vendors... http://www.akrapovic.com/product-catalog/motorcycle-exhaust/?puid=155 Is this system not available yet, or is it just not listed on sites because most people dont want to keep the duals? If anyone knows where I could find it, I'd appreciate any leads. I tried contacting Akra thru the link on their page a few days back but no response.

I was planning on a Leo Vince Corsa system or Arrow Competition until I came across the Akra... If anyone has any info on quality and if I'd likely be happier with another one other than this, feel free to share :)

Later,
Chris

LOL. In terms of not being able to find the dual, or Akra systems in general? I hadn't really heard anything bad about the Akra single system. May go with the Akra single.. Weight savings are never a bad thing..

Akra rocks, duals are homoghey times eleventy billion. However, if you're dead set on out-fudging the local puff, I heard there are some J-Force prototypes out there from SBK. They might not have made that cut but they are certainly going to be better than anything else in a dual.

The answer is yes you can get them and we'll leave the "additional weight" crap for another thread. You're still going to lose a significant amount by dumping the stock stuff. I have them on my bike and they are very good quality stuff. You'll be amazed at the fit alone. Any place that deals with Parts Unlimited should be able to get you a price but you'll have to call around to find them. These will NOT BE CHEAP as they recently raised their prices across the board. I couldn't find them online at all, but I have local connections for all of my needs anyway. Look on page 2 of this thread and you can see for yourself: http://www.gixxer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=188707

IMO you can never go wrong with Akra's and you'd love them.

Save the money, save the weight and just get a single outlet exhaust.

The GSXR is not a V-twin, it has no need for dual exhausts for anything other than noise muffling.

Duals on a 1k fit the definition of poserware perfectly. Extra weight, less performance, more money. Anyone who knows anything about these bikes looks at that shit and instantly thinks "what fucking retard put that crap on his bike?"

OK....since it's going there again. Palo, would you be so kind as to provide us with this earth shattering performance data you have that says unequivocally that a full Akra single side setup is better than a full Akra dual setup. I'm going to bet $100000000000000000 that there isn't a big enough different (if any) for you to even post your data. Will a dual setup flow better, in theory yes it should. Is it superior to a single setup, no. There basically the same just an extra can. For racers/race teams it comes down to simplicity when work needs to be performed on the machine....the fewer parts to remove the fewer to put back on.

We all know that you don't like duals because your a racer and we're glad you provided your opinion. But don't be posting erroneous information saying duals are for posers (that's an opinion not constructive information), duals weigh twice as much as a single, blah, blah, blah. If you want I'll even provide the proof that a dual setup only minimally changes the power to weight ratio (since you're all about the "additional weight"). I'll go ahead and weigh the left can and mid pipe and I'll do the math for you to show it is so negligible you won't have to fly into every "dual" post and cry "OH THE DUALS WEIGH AS MUCH AS AN ELEPHANT!!! DON'T DO IT!!!" and we can finally put it to rest.

So in closing, you (Palo) and others like single sides....cool I can respect that. Myself, cehoward, and others like duals....cool I can also respect that. Put on what you like, but you won't see me going around slamming singles because "I think" this or that. If the man has the coin and wants a dual setup, OK. Just let me know when I need to pull off the pipe to help quench your disdain for this extra added weight thing. Oh, and I have never had one person come up to me and tell me the pipes look like shit....but then again I'm to busy riding it instead of posing with it like you assume everyone with duals does.

I was always kinda curious why you dont see more duals.

I would think that having dual exhaust would allow the engine to breathe better, more airflow, add a lil more fuel, and you have more power.

Thought to myself this must not be the case, you see people that are just interested in HP and dyno runs, not necc. weight, and they dont run duals. Interesting .... then I thought of when I used to work on NHRA Pro Stock bikes, we never ran duals and the exhaust was always a critical component, custom made, weight was not an issue because the bike was always light enough that we had to add lead weights, but we always ran 4 into 1.

SPL and Palo, your posts along with a few others are ones I look for on here with good info. I guess basically a 4 into 2, in reality doesnt breath much, if any better than a 4 into 1, which looking at it doesnt make much sense.

i personally like the twin exhaust on v-twins like the rc-51, or aprilia tuono. but hey, the k7 k8 DOES come with twins so if ya want to keep it like that but make it better then I say go for it. I like the single better but different strokes.. If your gonna go with the twins then the carbon akras is the way to go!!!!!:punk

The guys on the podium do not run duals. I doubt any professional team in modern racing history has ever added a pipe to one that came stock with a 4-1 or 4-2-1. I'm guessing it's a performance thing. Could be those pro race teams are all posers though.

You're right, I don't know. What evidence would it take for me to stop calling duals poser-ware for retards? When Yoshimura and the prototype I4 MotoGP bikes start running them. Until then, your bike will always make me roll my eyes and marvel at the wisdom of P.T. Barnum.

They have to provide an option for both. Certain racing organizations, World Superbike for example, require that any aftermarket exhaust setup retains a similar configuration to stock. AMA Superbike does not have this regulation.

Hence why Max Neikirchners GSXR-1000 has dual Arrows.....but Spies, Mladin, Hayden, Yates, May.....etc etc down the line only run a single.

No one can prove it is fake and I think I have seen flames come out both pipes when traction control is doing it's thing. I need to watch it again in slow motion.

got it wrong again Tank. Get them to match your tire lettering and you teh seckz

Adding shit that makes your bike worse, however slightly, and doing it for aesthetic reasons is the very soul of posing. My hard earned status as a ginormous, opinionated jerk does not alter that reality one iota.

Yuo can attach a strap on to yourself but it will never mean you have 2 fully functioning penis's no matter how bad you want it to.
