98 SRAD Frame Slider Install Help

A few weeks ago, I bought a 98 SRAD 750 with 8k on it. I bought a no-cut frame slider kit and started to install it. I ran into a problem right away. I took out the engine mount bolt on the right side and went to put the new bolt in and the new bolt doesn't want to go into the old slot. Frustrated, I decided to put the engine mount bolt back in. I was trying to set it back to proper torque, but it just kept turning. I pulled the bolt back out and found threaded metal on the bolt. It seems to have partially stripped the mounting hole. The bolt goes back in and it is tight to the hand, but I cannot be certain it is tight enough.

I'm a little freaked out that I have ruined my bike or that my engine is going to fall out. What should I do? I want to use no-cuts, but if the hole is stripped how do I even get a bolt to stay in there safely?

Any advice would be awesome right about now.

Normally...Drilling and tapping or heli-coiling is the prefered method. There is an easier way though. Clean all the loose shavings from the area so you'll be working with/in a clean enviorment.
If you take a long/thin screwdriver or even a pencil, you will notice that the bolt hole goes clean thru the motor mount in the cylinder head and is open in the back. Simply install a longer bolt and sneak a self locking nut in the back of the motor mount. Simple as that! No drilling, no heli coils, no $hit!

go to cycle gear...they will make sure that you have the right kit. thats where i got mine and they went on without a problem. make sure you loosen the pinch bolt before removing/installing the bolts or you WILL have problems
