Anybody know if the 750 will bolt right in to the frame or if modification to mounting brackets etc is needed? im contemplating doing an engine swap next winter but want to know whats involved before going in that direction.

Honestly not worth it. For the cost to buy the engine/ECU/etc and the gains of selling the 600 stuff, you could just sell the complete bike and buy a complete 750 cheaper.

Well it comes down to more than just the swap. Insurance for myself is already $100+ a month at age 22. Not like its going down anytime soon either. On a 750 they would probably want around $250 a month which is OUTRAGEOUS so if I can do the swap and it only cost me $500-$700 after selling my 600 parts I'd be fine. With what I've been seeing after selling the 600 parts nobody has even spent $500 total. Just a matter of shopping around.

Problem with that is that if you get involved in an accident and if the insurance adjuster happens to notice that the engine is bigger than they have registered, they are in their full right to refuse coverage. Imagine someone else is involved in the accident and you are at fault so you get to pay their medical bills, repairs, etc... Not worth it.

Not worth it? Of course it is! :wacko

I did this very thing, put in 06 1000 cams, coated the pistons with thermal and friction coatings, have a full yosh exhaust, and used the stock 600 sprockets. Its pretty fast!

The 750 motor will bolt right into the frame, but the 600 header will give you some flack where it bolts below the right foot. With the muffler installed you just need to pull back on it a bit while you get the bolt in.

You need the 750 engine including airbox, and you need the 750 ecu. Some people have used the 600 airbox on the 750 motor, but I believe it is a hassle because of the velocity stack and throttle body sizes.

People also think you have a 600, so the sleeper aspect is fun.
