These years are not the best K1s all-around, but they ARE THE BEST LOOKING. Barring, maybe the brand new one, which i the best looking GSXR since 03/04, but still not convinced.

A couple tasteful mods really make these a looker.

People still comment left and right how beautiful my bike is. It's timeless. Here is mine in some states of undress since I am trying to figure out the bar vibration..

Look at the big huge exhaust cannon! I'm thinking about chopping that down, rolling the edges, and re-using the end cap, and painting or powder coating it a color.

Sweet baby Jesus ... look at the size of the stock can , looks like an anti aircraft cannon :lol

I agree with the Cannon thought...But if you had 50 of those cannons you could sell them (around $200.00 each) all day long to guys that own DR650's

They are really lite...(The stock DR 650 muffler must weigh about 12 pounds) and sounds 100 times better than the original muffler.

I see two mufflers on the "For Sale" section here, that would fit your bike and they both look Brand New...one bolt on...one slip on.

Gym-rat buddy bought one new the 1st year they came out, took me for a spirited ride through town&on the highway. I was 22 at the time,it was the baddest car I rode in and left a lasting impression til this day. I remember how excited he got "when the V-TEC kicks in" :lol

Suspension set for 160lb. rider (also done by Burkhead)
BMC Air Filter
Brisk AOR10LGS Spark Plugs
M4 GP Slip On
Driven Block Off Plates
Pair Mod
Moto-Master Front Rotors w/EBC HH Sintered Pads
Arashi Rear Rotor w/EBC HH Pads
Galfer SS Brake Lines F&R
Billet rear brake fluid reservoir
Ebay Rearsets (yeah I skimped but I've had no issues)
Speedohealer w/gear indicator
-1/+1 Vortex Steel Sprockets with EK ZVX-3 530 Chain
LRC Components Chrome Clutch and Stator Covers
Custom integrated led sequential turn signals in passenger pegs (Tripage Led)
Polished LRC Components Triple Tree
Replaced all SS bolts and nuts with Titanium hardware from Pro Bolt

At the end of the day, I wanted it to look good to me, without sacrificing handling and performance. She's older, but she's still fast.

Very nice Deuce...the mods and like the new color much better.

8, what year will you select ?

G

Gosh, that's a sic color but I like it.

Why appears no bracing on swing arm?

If I were to build a stretch, I think might do away with the mono forward shock and linkage all together...and go for rearword twin dampers..be more stable..no? lol

Crisp !!?? worried..

Any stretched swing arm has to be braced ...
Not necessarily if it's from a reputable, quality company. I have a McIntosh Aluma-Street arm on my K5 turbo. Bike goes straight as an arrow pushing 300rwhp.
However,on the Busa I run a McIntosh Aluma-Pro which is underbraced.
The Busa makes almost 2x the rwhp&tq that the K5 does&the non-braced arm that I originally had on it was twisting under boost causing the bike to veer hard to the left going WFO so I had to upgrade. ;)
