I picked these up off ebay for cheap to mount to my 1000. But I was never particularly thrilled with the plain silver color.

So I first decided to break them down to clean and spruce up.

And now they look like this, once done they'll get mounted on the 1000 to make it a bit more Italian alongside the Marchesini wheels :D

And before you ask, this is what I used to do this.

Re: For anyone wanting to make their stock Brembos a little more "real" looking

Love the red, don't care about the gray... so how did you keep the edges of the letters so nice and crisp? I'd imagine there would be real issues with going over the edge of the raised logo.

It's a paint pen.....it's pretty easy to keep a sharp edge.

They look good, much better than before.

I have done similar. Yours look great. Another option is to paint the entire caliper (suggest bike color) with VHT Caliper paint. Then letters as described above (maybe bikes accent color).

The VHT paint is available at Autozone and is reasonably priced. VHT stands for very high temperatures and will not degrade due to high temperatures that calipers can be subjected to. It leaves a very nice (ceramic looking) shine.

Needs a carbon fender

Its funny you should say that Rich, the two rear fender mounts cracked not long ago.....so that's not a terrible idea :D :D :D

You have runners legs. I like me a good chase :crazy

But I'm fat, so I'll just sit here and do nothing.

I just wanted to add that I chose this shade of gray because it was a VERY close match to the color of the 19x18 Brembo MC that I have on the bike as well.
