sigh - on behalf of the faculty and myself, sorry for the threadjack bunke10. In retrospect, such a retort was inevitable.

LWI, I'm not 'following you around' as you so aptly put it. If you recall, you barged into my purchase thread and inexplicably started dissing my riding and my penchant for keeping a clean bike. In Bunke10's thread, you came-in directly after my comments, in which I ironically said it's better to ride with a a faster rider who rides within their skill / confidence than less experienced riders who think they’re da’ bomb. 2 track days ago, I watched a gorgeous duck 1098s get taken-out from behind by a young rider who wanted to try his hand in the advanced group.

I was pointing out the obvious: that by comparing videos of two riders, it's laughable that the clearly less-skilled rider types-up war & peace to coach the more advanced rider.

1 track day? Not sure where you'd get that. My first litrebike was a brand-new (very shiny!) Ninja 1000 back in 1986, which is roughly when I expect you were born so..... Since I got it 3 weeks ago, I have only been to the track once on my K6 1000, if that’s what you meant.

BTW, it's easy to judge lean angles by looking at where the horizon line is in the video window... as well as watching riders who are riding at the same pace.

Also, in your track videos, you'll be bouncing off the rev limiter on a straight and 2-3 curves later, you haven't shifted once while the tach has to be down around 3K. And a question – are you riding in the beginner or intermediate group? There’s absolutely no way you’ll convince anyone by your riding and those around you, that you’re in the advanced group.

And finally, I am certainly not cutting-up anyone's 'decade old' bike. Au contraire. That was to illustrate the lack of relevance of your comments about those who have newer, mint-condition machines.
I ride 7/10, never beyond my comfort zone and that keeps me (safely) in the front batch of riders in the advanced group.

HOWEVER: does that make me the shit? Nooooooooo. Bunke10, myself and most track-guys out here are doing it for fun and skill-building. Notice that even though he demonstrates a solid skillset, he asks for critique as opposed to pontificating. I’m certainly no Rossi myself – nowhere near the skills of some of the amateur racers out here. As such, in my response to Bunke10, I qualified my critique with a “FWIW” at the beginning.

I’m not going to say ‘no offense intended’. If I were you, I’d try to learn from this. A public forum is so anyone can say their piece of course…. but soap-box-cryers are a dime a dozen and easily identified as such.

So once again, I close-off my response to you with ‘peace man’.
:lmao not sure what vids you are watching, I never bounce off my rev limiter, half my track vids got music playing sooooo? - this guy :dissapointed around 3k rpms :lmao ur an idiot or you'd know these bikes don't perform at all around that range, perhaps that popping sound you heard watching my vids was your hearing aid malfunctioning.

I'm sure a douche like you got in advance cuz you know some people that know some people that sucked some people off. Since you apparently have a hard time reading....I'm in beginner group ;) my offer still stands if you wanna run a few laps. You can harp about my age, attitude, whatever makes you feel better - no one cares. Do you have vids? You been riding since Jesus had a R1 - got to have some vids somewhere...:dunno oh wait...you've been riding for hundreds of years, but still got to ask about riding on "track rubber" on the street. :wacko what exactly is "track rubber?" :wait You're in advance after 1000 years of riding - well shit I would hope so - and still have 0% of advice to offer. I do walk tall and carry a big stick, so what? Does that anger you? lol wtf. But I also will sit in on a class, take a class, take advice, and listen to those better than me and/or with more experience. Unfortunately, you are not either of those in my view. Sorry I don't feel the need to "qualify" my repsonses when I'm just sharing my experience and things that have been told me by instructors. LOL... internet qualifications. wtf. I also don't care what group, pot, soap box, or whatever it is you or anyone chooses to put me in. Internet or reality.

All that hoopla and you didn't explain "you're riding much further down on your rubber" :wait

So you ride 7/10 of your ability on the track? :facepalm I'm sure that's just due to old bones. The track is where you are supposed to leave your comfort zone, learn, push, and learn. Unfortunately, you are just another sandbagger on a bike they can't handle.

I did actually make some use of brake markers later in the day and then on Sunday. I managed to run a couple laps in the 1:31's in my last session on Sunday (backwards) which included a lot more braking with the addition of downshifting.

There was so much progression made that I think I look slow in this video lol and at the time I thought I was flying.

Unfortunately as time went on I felt like I was just trying too hard to drag knee and kept getting more crossed up.

At one point in time I kept telling myself to literally lay my chest on the tank to keep the head down and stay in line with the bike. I'm not really sure what happened to that lol

First of all, forget about Derek and the french guy trying to convince each other who has the bigger dick. It doesnt matter.

OK now GET RID OF THE LAP TIMER!!!!!!!! Especially if you can see it while you are on track, you are gonna start chasing lap times and that will get you in trouble. I have not timed one of my laps, one day something just clicked and I picked up a considerable amount of time, so now I will start timing a couple laps.

I didnt get a chance to watch the video cause I am at work, but I will later. Instead of worrying about what everyone else is telling you about your body position, listen to yourself about it. No two people are built the same so no 2 people are gonna ride exactly the same, sure there are general ideas that you need to follow, ther is no "right, but there is a wrong. before worrying about your body position work on your line first, take your time and get it right before moving on. It is the most important part of going fast. You can go slow on a fast line but you cant go fast on a slow line. make sure you are hitting your entry, apex and exit point, make sure you hold a predictable line, dont make turns where there isnt supposed to be one. the guy trying to pass you needs that space and he expects you to stay where you are whether you are right or wrong, so if you take the wrong line be cautious about getting back on line or just stay ther till the next turn. the fast guy behind is depending on you to stay on the line you are on.

Hey Le Skidmark, whilst very eloquently written, you sound like an absolute turd.

'Peace man'

I want to go naked camp. Can I join in and talk about how pro I am?
Naked camp, must be a gdc thing. Not sure I wanna attend. But to throw it out there one last time, the point I keep making is I'm far from pro, or even 'fast' by more serious track standards, while my smiley-face-abusing counterpart seems to lack the same objectivity.

The more you know, the more you realize how little you know

nice to know I haven't lost my touch

And whoever mentioned the bike being down to 3k rpm's (Probably Lean With It): No, it never dropped below 6.5-7k. It probably just sounded that way since I had it running at 12-13k for so long.

Yes, I could have downshifted and then upshifted as soon as I got out of the corner, but I'm not racing yet so fuck it. And anyway, I built up enough corner speed in all of those corners that it was dipping to the point that by the end of the day Sunday, I don't think it dropped below 8k in the same gear.

read ya boy le skidmarked post again :facepalm I think he was talking about my vids, who the fuck knows what he was talking about. And in my vids, the view angle never has the tach visible :lol so again...what the fuck is he talking about? what a douchecanoe. I can directly relate to your BP in the vid, if you want to see, check my youtube link my sig and watch the vid "RT33 Mountain dancing" our BP is identical and I fixed it with the same advice I gave you that I received from others.

I actually gave you meaningful advice, - should you or anyone else not take it as such, don't really care. I made no mention of you being anywhere in the powerband (especially at the view angle of your vid...can't even see the damn tach :facepalm ) You posted up and asked for a critique, sorry I wasn't all nice and sugar coat shit for you and say "great stuff for your 2nd day" cuz that's a great critique and a wealth of info for you to build off of. :thumbup

Without hopping in the middle of you and dude's feud... he COULD take the opportunity to STFU since he isn't posting vid of his riding... just saying.
