sigh - on behalf of the faculty and myself, sorry for the threadjack bunke10. In retrospect, such a retort was inevitable.
LWI, I'm not 'following you around' as you so aptly put it. If you recall, you barged into my purchase thread and inexplicably started dissing my riding and my penchant for keeping a clean bike. In Bunke10's thread, you came-in directly after my comments, in which I ironically said it's better to ride with a a faster rider who rides within their skill / confidence than less experienced riders who think they’re da’ bomb. 2 track days ago, I watched a gorgeous duck 1098s get taken-out from behind by a young rider who wanted to try his hand in the advanced group.
I was pointing out the obvious: that by comparing videos of two riders, it's laughable that the clearly less-skilled rider types-up war & peace to coach the more advanced rider.
1 track day? Not sure where you'd get that. My first litrebike was a brand-new (very shiny!) Ninja 1000 back in 1986, which is roughly when I expect you were born so..... Since I got it 3 weeks ago, I have only been to the track once on my K6 1000, if that’s what you meant.
BTW, it's easy to judge lean angles by looking at where the horizon line is in the video window... as well as watching riders in the video who are riding at the same pace.
Also, in your track videos, you'll be bouncing off the rev limiter on a straight and 2-3 curves later, you haven't shifted once while the tach has to be down around 3K. And a question – are you riding in the beginner or intermediate group? There’s absolutely no way you’ll convince anyone by your riding and those around you, that you’re in the advanced group.
And finally, I am certainly not cutting-up anyone's 'decade old' bike. Au contraire. That was to illustrate the lack of relevance of your comments about those who have newer, mint-condition machines.
I ride 7/10, never beyond my comfort zone and that keeps my bikes shiny and my ass safely in the front batch of riders in the advanced group.
HOWEVER: does that make me the shit? Nooooooooo. Bunke10, myself and most track-guys out here are doing it for fun and skill-building. Notice that even though he demonstrates a solid skillset, he asks for critique as opposed to pontificating. I’m certainly no Rossi myself – nowhere near the skills of some of the amateur racers out here. As such, in my response to Bunke10, I qualified my critique with a “FWIW” at the beginning.
I’m not going to say ‘no offense intended’. If I were you, I’d try to learn from this. A public forum is so anyone can say their piece of course…. but soap-box-cryers are a dime a dozen and easily identified as such.
So once again, I close-off my response to you with ‘peace man’.
