Actually I should clarify, Tiffany called them up and after she talked with them they waved the fee.
Hey, it got shit done didn't it?

:lol

Think about though, if you are told by some dude to do something usually the first thought that pops up into my own head is to rebel(get fucked, lick a taint, get bent, etc)

A woman tells me and usually rebel is there but not all the time :lmao

Did I just waste $100?

Bought a set of Woodcraft clipons for the track bike a while ago off WERA, and set them aside knowing I'd need them one day. Didn't realize when I bought them, but they're tapered, 48mm at the bottom, 50mm towards the top.

Looks like they're designed to mount to the fork at one specific location on the fork, and if you have your front end raised (fork flushed with triple), you can't install the clipons flush with the upper triple, there is a rather nice gap....the gap being so large on my bike that the hose connecting the brake fluid reservoir with the MC doesn't reach. :scratch

Who at Woodcraft thought this was a good idea? Isn't flushing the forks with the triple almost mandatory for our bikes?
For those more knowledgeable than myself (which is all of you) what do?

WERA talking about same problem:

I don't remember having an issue installing mine, except for the tight fit around the tubes (giggity)....I'll look again when I get home.

Oh, do you still want to go to CMP? I can't remember where that convo ended...

Either you have the standard (non tapered) 50mm clipons, or your forks are in the stock position. I've tried everything, no way these fit right. :cursing:

And yep, I'm still in for CMP....with or without the bike.
But if a couple things I'm working on turn out like I hope, I'll be able to ride. :woot
You still good to meet me in Birmingham?

Mine are the tapered ones. I know that for sure. My forks are in the stock position, though (missed that part).

Absolutely. If you ride, which bike is it going to be? I want to make sure I have the right pins for the restraints. I figure that we can meet on the East side of B'ham and go from there.

Brian, if you're still around - I'm not gonna need to have the bike shipped, I've decided to sell it here. But thanks for your help anyway :) *HUGS*

Crap. I'd really rather not raise the fork tubes back up.

If I'm able to ride, it will be the track bike.
I can't afford one busted bike right now, not chancing the street bike.

The fight with State Farm continues..... :dissapointed

What else do you need to get the track bike running? I have spare parts...

I was hoping those fuckers would have caved by now. When did you start that policy? I read something, somewhere (Maybe WERA) about State Farm changing their policy in 2011. Mine started in 2010....

In fact, I'm calling my agent right now to inquire about that....

I think I've got most of the major stuff taken care of.
Forks are at the shop getting new seals, got new tires on the way.
Already replaced swing arm, lower triple, foot peg, and tank fairing.
Body work is busted up a little, ugly but kinda still usable.

If it's the same thread I'm thinking of, I read that earlier this week, too.
Policy was started in March of this year, so maybe they wised up to the track thing since last year. :dunno

At least we'll both be riding with busted up fairings....:lol Just fiberglass it up and roll with it. :D

My agent is calling both the claims dept. and the underwriter and is calling me back. He is unaware of any changes at this time.

Shit, speaking of tires...Is there going to be tire service at CMP?

Bunk, I talked to my agent again and they talked to the underwriter and the claims dept.

The question was "If I am on a race track, but at a track day NOT racing am I covered?". I explained to them what a track day organization is and that there is coaching at the beginner level and then control riders after that. The stated intent of the organization is to make you a better rider while teaching those skills in a controlled environment.

The answer that they got back was "Yes, you are covered any where, at any time, as long as you are not racing. Racing is defined as being able to win a form of prize, be it cash or otherwise." My agent added that "I would think that going to the track would be encouraged."

The caveat to this is that it is possible that State Farm of Alabama has a different policy. They did not know if that was the case, but they seemed to think it unlikely. That being said, the verbiage in your specific policy seems to say otherwise...

I'd take the learning angle and keep fighting with them....
