Hello everybody,

I have just found this site and have just registered. I am a great fan of oil cooled gixxers and I want to purchase one of them in a few days.

My choices are 2 models; a 1990 750 L and a 1991 1100 M. I never had a oil cooled gixxer before and I want to do the right choice.

Both bikes are in very good condition, being the 1100 a little better with 18.000 original miles. The 750 has 29.000. Both bikes had great life with correct oil changes and never abused.

Both bikes have the same driving position? Wich is more radical? What do you prefer?

Please help since I want to make my decision this weekend.
Thanks in advance,
August

welcome to the site ,the 750 is a bit docile down low, and you have to ring it's neck to get it to go -so i'd go 91-1100 heaps of bottom end ,rev it to 4,000 in the gears and
prob run a 13 sec 1/4 ,1100 prob bit more comfortable iff your tall

Hi August, welcome on board...We like similar models, I also have a RD 350...

I think the 1100 is better for the street and the 750 for the track.
The 1100 seems to be unmolested, and the 750´s front fairing is not the oem paintjob.
I think the 1100 is in better condition.

P.M me if you have any doubt and will give you my phone number :cheers

I would have to say the 91 1100. I have a 91 750 and it can be a pain on the street if you're not used to it, and if you want to do miles, then good luck. I've had mine for twenty years so I don't know any better and it best that way. Plus I like the looks of the 91 better.

I have to agree, for the road the 1100 would be a much nicer ride.

I would say the 90 750, but I am def biased as I own a 90 750 in red. If it was power, speed, torque, or size you were going for, you would not be looking at the beautiful oil cooled Gixxers. I love the feel of the 750 and I am not a small guy either.

I thought I would throw my two cents in since I was reading. Mine unfortunately is not as clean as either bike you are looking at, I was rear ended while turning a corner. So, I am looking for new plastics. Anyone know where I can find some with the red paintjob?

I've got a few of both and love em all .... But if I had the same choice to make that you do I would definitely take the 1992 1100 ...
I've been across the country on most of them and did not have any ill things to say about them ..... Would I have been more comfortable on a gold wing ? Sure .... but I would not have had nearly has much fun ...
I just finished diggin my 1277 out of moth balls and will have that back on the road later this week ... Inside of the tank is pretty fubar so I'll have to either swap tanks or do something with that one .... Need to find a better pipe for it as well ..... It has an old VnH SS .. Would rather put a megaphone style drag pipe in it ... or a Hindle ...
Still waiting to settle things with the ins co on the 92 ... Man that thing was perfect and scratch free until that accident .....
I need a complete ft end for it ... less wheel .. Thinking about upgrading the fork n trees to something newer ... Anyone know what will work with minimum pain n suffering ... ?
