i want to know everything there is to maximize the potential of my srad motor. weight reduction, horsepower, torque and anything that anyone could suggest. i've been toying with the idea of a 1000 motor swap but its quite expensive. so i would like to see what i could to to my bike to get every last drop of power without doing anything a turbo. i don't really want to do motor work like boring and stuff like that but would be willing to listen to anyone who has good stories about it

get cams. Other then that, you talking motor work to make more power. You could also add few more teeth to the rear.

cams
ignition advancer
TRE
airbox mod
crankcase breather
clean & balance throttle bodies
quick action throttle
as said - custom map

theres little bolt on things - but for bigger gains, its either the thou lump or deep tuning

Oh yea, what kinda of riding do you do? Canyons? Strip? Poser?

i have a pc3, full yosh r22, -1/+6 in the rear and a k+n filter and its just not enough anymore. i wanted to see if there were any other options besides buying a 1000 cuz i love my srad. i have had it dynoed it only has 115 at the wheel. i have a friend who has a 96 750 with a full yosh rs3 stage 1 jet kit and a filter and hes got 121 at the wheel. as for the bad rider comments(not trying to be a douche but) i can outride most people i have ridden with in the turns, have beaten newer 600s and 750s and a busa in a drag race and my longest wheelie was 2.2 miles i average a little over a mile nuff said... i have 40000 miles of whooping the shit out of my bike so i might get a little more if i do a valve adjustment and tune up the motor but i was just wondering if anyone had any ideas of what i don't already have done thanks

Outriding a couple of buddies on the streets of NJ, and riding fast around a track are 2 completely different worlds (I say this because I've heard about 100 people that sound just like you just did up there). Before spending money on your bike I would say go try the track once and find out how little your bike is holding you back.......you'll quickly realize its the other way around.

And have a lot more fun doing it ;)

Drag races & wheelies don't count in this area.
Set your suspension up, get to the circuit, and use your SRAD to its' potential!
These things (the SRAD) corner like f@ck when set up, and still make the same power as the modern 600's and 750's.
Your power seems down a bit. Maybe get a better map?
+6 seems excessive. + 2 or 3 is more than enough from the rear with (maybe) losing a cog at the front also.
go to the track, set your suspension up..... have lots of fun!

-1 & +6 IS too much IMO

i had -1 & +5 & i went back to a 16tooth front coz i was changing gear like i was on a 6 & running out of revs almost straight away

-1/+3 is a good all around mix from what I have found.

But as for your power, 115 is a bit on the low side (you should be in the 120 area). You might need to just rebuild the bike to freshen her up a bit. Rings and a valve lap... But run a compression test and leak down test to see if the motor is just tired. That might be all it is.

As for the riding, you may think your good, but there is always room to improve. The rider really makes the bike. Sure, pure HP will get you to the end of the straight faster, but sooner or later you still have to turn... Getting better at that will make a huge difference.
I have been able to gain half a straight on newer 1Ks just because I am not slowing down so much for the last turn before the straight.

13 in front 44 in the back...shit moves out ..190 drag tire in the rear strapped and streched still ride twistys ..and highway ..revs a little high but ive raced z06's on the highway and killed em till i hit 187..than he started to catch up ..but my bike is really for 1/4 mile street racing. i ride it pretty much everyday ...oh and i got a bottle under the rear seat incase im loseing ...lol.

i know i have much room to improve my riding skills. i am far from the best rider out here and i know that, i just don't appreciate people talking down about the way i ride without seeing it first hand and when all i did was ask a simple question about my bike. and also i don't like the idea of a track. i like riding in traffic, not gridlock, but cars on the rode. i like the adrenaline of bobbing and weaving at high speeds on the parkway, the feeling of never knowing who's going where and always looking out idk i might be weird but i like city riding. i feel the track would be a waste of time for me cuz i would just be going around a track over and over with nothing but other bikes around. but i might try going to the track someday maybe i might like it who knows

:dissapointed

Probably not going to get much love around here then.......you're basically the kind of rider perpetuating the stereotype that most of us all hate.

best advice i was ever given ....

Don't try to make your bike faster until you learn how to ride it faster.

I am not saying you don't have skills but your bike is not the weak link (unless its broken)

everyone can always improve ... Me too

im not gonna flame. but do stop riding like an idiot. like it was said numerous times, you are the weak link. if your bike actually is, like really is holding you back, your probably better off moving up to a liter bike.

Wow. I've been on vacation for a week and this is the first thread I read. Even if your on the throttle stop in the straights doesn't mean you need more power. Besides what you have already done your going to need to open up the engine. Or you could just slap a 100 shot of nos and call it a day. Nos man. Nos. Or you could do it the right way and learn to use the bike to it's fullest potential.

Bottles are for babies! Save the NOS for your cars.. lol
