toejam so if you bought that you would beat it to death and make it a trackbike? I think it's a safe bet to wager that 99.999% of this forum would keep it in mint condition at all costs...no matter what they say they would do with it on an internet forum. It's not like it's chump change.
Yes, i would.

If you knew me good enough, you would know that i would. I buy things for purpose...not for show...and i run on EVERYTHING i buy like a rented mule. You probably remember how long it took me to blow up a new Escalade Truck last year.

I would never buy it if i planned on keeping it in mint condition. The ONLY way i would do that is if i bought 2 of them. 1 to USE and the other to keep locked up somewhere as a collectors item.

In all likelyhood, my next race bike will be a loaded Ducati so i can race in the Twins classes. Granted, i am talking about $25k vs $70+k...but the principal is the same. When i buy my Duc, it will never see a public road and will be "beat to death" from day 1.

I honestly cannot fathom buying a bike like, with those specifications, without the intentions of using it for what it was designed to do. Just the thought of it is mind boggling to me.

The questions are great!!!!

I saw yours Chris....that's good man.

This dude should just get rid of the bike and park his face right in there and go "burrrrrrrrrrrrr".

Can't he just sell it and buy the 1198?
:biggrin

From what i can gather Wayne, he needs to sell it and get a 250. :dissapointed

If I had enough money to easily be able to afford that, I'd ride the hell out of it - on the track.

I rode at Mugello in October. There were FIVE Desmos there, one of which was real - Ducati is the only manufacturer that I know of that sells its "old" GP bikes... All of them were being THRASHED :punk There were two (as I could tell) in Intermediate, the rest were with us in the Advanced :punk

But fuck it's annoying to be pulled away from massively on that long-ass straight by those beasts :lol Even very tuned 1Ks (there were a couple of national level riders from Italy and Germany there) looked like they were standing still when the real Desmo got on the straight :lol

That's kinda what I was thinking too. If anyone had that kind of money, I doubt they'd be so concerned about wadding it up. Plus, you could buy two as said before. One for your track bitch and one for your starbucks ride. :biggrin

The guys who actually buy Desmos probably have a Ferarri or two laying around in which case I doubt they'd be as concerned with crashing them as us less wealthy folks would think. Who knows though. :dunno

The bike should be ridden as intended. If some is riding it hard at the track than more power to them. If they can afford the maintenance of the bike then let them push it hard and enjoy it.
