motomummy is by far the best company i have dealt with over the internet. fastest shipping, lowest prices and awesome customer service. i proudly rock the mummy sock over my brake res. i always recommend them. motomummy you guys seriously kick ass :punk

When I first saw the thread title "Don't Order From Motomummy", I immediately thought - Oh boy, this ain't gonna go well for the OP.

The OP's provocative title, coupled with the details of his complaint, are no-doubt meant to punish Corey and Motomummy, not to inform or warn others.

Many of us have had nasty disputes with various vendors or private sellers. This particular incident doesn't come close to warranting a "Don't Order From..." thread.

I could easily pull up a dozen threads off the WERA board, BARF, etc., where people have been ripped off of hundreds, sometimes thousands of dollars.

Check out the local drama we're dealing with out here in SoCal right this minute with Kelly Baker - as detailed on RRW.com.

I can't remember if I've ever ordered anything from Motomummy (as I buy my parts used from locals or Ebay), and I don't know Corey. But I've been around the bike-related board community for a long time - as have Corey and Motomummy - and I can honestly say that of all vendors on any and all sites I'm associated with, Motomummy is the one I would look to first for buying parts. I've never heard a disparaging word about them and have always been impressed with Corey's attitude and the way he conducts himself.

Holy shit dude!!!

Man I wouldn't want to go thru some of the nightmares this Kelly Baker has put people through...

I couldn't imagine talking to fellow riders and have them tell me some really cool dude GAVE them parts off of "his project bike" and having that bike be my bike that he is supposed to be servicing... I'd fuckin lose it.

It's only the tip of the iceberg, I'm afraid. Kelly is/was the WSMC racing on-site bike guy (with his shop at the track). Every day, more and more people are speaking up about his BS.

Here's more:

Im in the military at edwards afb right by rosamond, i've heard countless stories of baker screwing up military riders bikes and what not. definitely a shadester. I've met the guy plenty of times and he really just seems like a little con artist.

I`ve done a couple of orders through MM, and had no worries.
Prompt email response and quick shipping downunder to NZ.
Cheers guys and gals, my K7 thou is all the better for it:thumbup:thumbup

I agree completely with the OP

Shipping that fast after ordering is BS. MM needs to hang onto the orders for at least 2-3 days to give customers time to change their orders and give their customers more time to prep for the project at hand.

Not only that but MM should have sent the free grips on the house and paid shipping for it. Its just good business sense to lose money on the things you sell. The OP did the right thing by acting like a little bitch on the phone too. Since it works on your parents its gotta work in the real world.
Anyways
Big props to MM for your customer service/prices/shipping time and most importantly dealing with AHOLES that arent mature enough to own a bike in the first place:cheers

I like how he started this thread to bitch about MM and he actually just made me want to buy from them more.. Before reading this post MM was just another site to get parts from, but after I see that they have great shipping times, and very appropriate customer service. I will be purchasing through MM just because of this thread, Thanks!!

I have yet to see MM open a thread to bash a customer, and I feel they were well within their rights to "respond" since the OP had made the situation public.

That is what I feel is the key to this, the OP is the one that made it public, and MM responded with assumed factual data in the transcripts.

I see no problem with that.

If MM had started the thread to bash a customer, then I would have had issue with this... but that was never the case.

I will be getting my TBR can & Pazzo's from MM regardless if the grips are free then or not.

I too have ordered plenty from Corey and his wife Erin without an issue. Even when products were delayed he apologized to me when it was clearly not his fault.

Do people ever understand what it is like running your own business?

People are infinitely more likely to go crazy over the phone. Most of those individuals are clowns. I stopped getting bent out of shape over miscues - especially when I'm the cause - when . . . well, when I got a job and my own life and realized all those things my elders told me about flies and honey and, y'know, having a more positive disposition are good things to strive for.

It's OK to be an asshole, but it's not OK to be the first asshole, especially over your own blunder.

Babble end.

+1 .. motomummy rocks, I've ordered about 3 or so times from mm and have had no complaints whatsoever. I'm a very satisfied customer and will continue to be.

We are discontinuing the shogun product line for a variety of reasons. I can't go into detail though...

I would heavily recommend the lsl, woodcrafts, or evotech's instead.
