A lot of guys recommend Washington Cycle Works in Washington NJ. Little closer to you.

http://www.washingtoncycleworks.com/
they will set your stock suspension for you, don't know if they offer fork re-valves, re-springing, etc...

and cestode, thank you very much i will look into gp suspension...

:cheers

GP suspension for the fork parts, and I used Brian Livengood for the fork work. GP suspension does a great job as well though from what I gather

I got my shock from KWS at a pretty decent price. I got a double, and honestly dont regret it or the $$ saved over a tripple. My old 01 had a tripple, and I cant tell any real difference :dunno.

yeah, i know what you are saying, but i figure fuck it, if i am gonna spend the money, i am gonna spend the money.

i'm not gonna do the work to the forks myself, so i am gonna just send them somewhere and have them get the parts and do all the work. that is why i am leaning towards thermosman or race tech.

In this case I would go with Ohlins shock. The price difference is really not much compared to Penske, and you can not go wrong with Ohlins.
Between Thermosman and Racetech I would go with Mike(T-man), although nowadays he work little on anything but raceteam support. :burnout

i like the penske because it is user serviceable, unlike the ohlins. plus, i know some racers that actually like the way the penske rear works over the ohlins...

I service both my TTX36 and my 25mm cartridge by myself. :scratch
Changing the valving on the TTX36 is a piece of cake. ;)

Peter Kates at G.M.D. Duh! :hammer

He's based out of MA, but also does his thing on site at LRRS. He brings his workshop (huge trailer) to the track every weekend and uses the garage right next to ours (remember, we're in Center #18 ). He's pretty much always there and generally works Fri. & Sat. and races Sun. (but this past race weekend he didn't race, just worked on suspensions).

I cannot say enough about him, great guy & very helpful . . . plus he's at the track and races on the same track.

If you don't use Pete . . . no cookies for you. :dissapointed

(Pete also sells new shocks, but I cannot comment on his pricing. I've always bought my shocks used and had them freshened by G.M.D.)
.

That’s who you go with right there. You always want to build a strong working relationship with your suspension guy. That way you don't have several people giving you different advice that will make you confused and go backwards. One person only. He will learn how you like to ride the bike and set it up. Huge plus is that he's right there with you.

man up? :wtf are you talking about?

i am just gonna go buy a new rear shock, instead of searching for a used one that is more than likely gonna have to get re-sprung anyway.

and no, i'm not made of money, but i make enough money to where spending $1200 or so on a rear shock isn't gonna kill me.
