ANything that will blow oil all over your leg will scare the shit out of you! I've had it happen twice more then I'd like to talk about. Not those o rings but different lines one running to the head just worked loose, and when I hit it one time it broke seal, and sprayed me! I hit the stop button so quick it was unreal! lol From what it looks like I hope its not that what is leaking. It may be one of the bottom end gaskets?

Come on someone HAS to have that SACS pic.

ah.....FUCK! ok guys, so what am i looking for here? can anyone show me on a picture/diagram. is this going to be a huge headache? i think i'm going to cry. i thought i was wrapping this shit up

Clean the front of the engine with brake cleaner and get all the old oil off, then run it for a bit and see if you can identify exactly where its coming from, pulling the head wasn't that bad but you know me, once I've done that there are just so many little things I can do in there that it gets expensive. If its the o-rings from the curved downtubes thats where you have to go, if you do have to pull I'd shave the head .010 and redo the valves whilst I was there, along with new springs (not full race), retainers, guides, etc. You shouldn't need new valves unless yours are getting crispy.

I agree the filter is probally split or cracked and leaking somehow. Stop posting and find it!!!

:lol:lol...dID YOU EVEN READ oL sKOOL'S post before posting? lol

So kool What did you find? How about getting a good flashlight,a nd see if its coming from something above the oil filter. I'm hoping myself its not your oil drain orings....Do I have to come down there?!! lol:spit

Since were just speculating on the source of the leak without actually looking, I will hereby give you my list of items that you wont need to check as possible sources.
Tire valve stems
Gas tank
Handlebars
chain and sprockets
footpegs
air cleaner
carbs
ignition coils
spark plugs
frame
forks and shock
swingarm
subframe
headlights
starter and alternator
battery
feel free to name some others.

Mike - I already DID clean off the front and ran it for a few. That is when I took the pics and I could see that there was no oil coming from above the filter....just hard to get in there and take a pic of that area.

Rob - I WILL take the filter off and check it out some more, but I've been swamped at work this week. I put in 13 hours yesterday and a bit extra today. I probably won't get a chance to mess with it until tomorrow night at the earliest.....most likely Saturday though.

Dubs - You reall DO need to read a post before you decide to agree with it.....then say the exact opposite and contradict yourself. See above as to why I haven't looked at it further as well.

Atomant - you're a funny guy....thanks for all of the help.

If its not above its got to be the filter, I've had old filter rubber left on the area before and it will cause it to leak. Go with the earlier posts, remove the filter and clean the area really well.
