My guess is that it's somthing to do with the air pressure sensor. Maybe you hooked the vent line to the senor and the vent to the idle air system. Before and after problems are dumb mistakes 99% of the time.

you talking about the IAP sensor, or the vacuum sensor that is on the right side of the throttle body assy? Fwiw he could have simply knocked the vacuum sensor hose off, and it will cause huge issues, or knocked the STVA sensor plug crooked, as it is right next to the Thermostat.

You are %100 correct though, %99.9 of the time, if it is fine, you fuck with it, then it is not fine, you fucked it up somehow...... and it will be something dumb and simple.

Last time I had my throttle bodies off, I completely missed plugging the STV sensor back in, then caught HELL trying to find the plug....... it was right in my face and I just kept over looking it :banghead

Moto Joe, its cool bro dont worry about it. I'm going to get the battery load tested today. One of my boys works parts at a local Suzuki shop. I just got off the phone with him. $108 for the factory battery!!! WWWTTTFFFFF!!!

Check an Intertate cross refference. I have never had an issue with one, and have used them for years

I'll get the gel issue figured out by doing some research they may have done a "run" on them to se how they do. That is what I was told by the dealer and the factory that it was a gel battery from the factory and they serv. it wrong at the dealer(I hope they all were telling me the truth). Maybe my bike was part of a test batch??? I was thinking about it this morning. If they had your bike for a long time then it makes sense the battery would be toast. They might have swapped it. A few months in the shop and if things aren't really organized and seperated they can lose stuff or maybe they used your battery on another bike real quick and forgot to swap it back out? I think your battey probably just wasn't being used hence: issues. Hopefully that all or something so simple it'll make me puke.

What brand is that damn thing? what part #? It's a Yuasa YT12A-BS??

If he said he had to "pull a strip off with 6 plugs" it is not an el-cheapo. the cheap batterys usally have screws, or snap in individual plugs, not one long strip. They also have a vent, which a MF battery does not.
There is a battery company about 15min from me called Power Battery. Few years back I was in desperate need of a battery just to get me thru a w/e and they had the cheap version of ours which was fine, it was just to get me through a group ride. It was $25 and came with the acid which was in one container but 6 individual "pods" so to speak inside. Anywho, iirc the battery had a strip with 6 stoppers that snapped into place...probably various designs from various companies.

I'm in walmart now. I just bought their battery which is an EverStart Maxx ES12BS. This isnt gel its liquid acid. Now I gotta go home and charge this puppy up to see if it was. My battery or not because everything else checked out fine.

Can't beat a $53 battery. You get what you pay for I always say. As long as it last me a few months of riding and the knowing of no REAL problem I'm cool with that!

I wouldnt have done that on a sportbike. Their charging systems are fairly finicky......... stick with what it is designed for.

ESPECIALLY if it is not a maintenance free battery. The difference is once you seal the MF it is permanant and not vented. If that battery is vented and is not a permanant seal once serviced, it is NOT what you want

will be alright for testing, but as soon as you have enough $$ to get a "name brand" battery, get one.

It appears to be maintanance free..... but I seriously dont trust cheap batteries. I have come across too many instances where someones charging system went out, and it was not long after changing the battery. Hard to be sure if it was directly the cause, but most of the time it seems to correlate. I rarely would see a good battery with a bad charging system.

Yepp. These Everstart should be called NEVERSTART battery. We had so many bikes with charging problem with these no-name brands. They last about 6 months and thats it. If you lucky won't damage the charging system. If you keep buying these junk batteries you'll spend probably at least $200 in the next two years, instead of buying one name brand like YUASA once and it lasts for years if you maintain properly...
You still didn't say what battery you had in the bike before.

I had a YUASA in the bike. It was the OEM battery. I let the battery vent 30 minutes after I put the acid in. I'm getting rid of the bike in a few months. Probably around July. I want the 08' 750 or I might just decide to hit the dirt again and buy a RMZ450.

Any update on this? Did you find out what the problem was?
