Oh great, next thing that'll happen will be the same as here

Circuits will have to abide by "noisepollution laws" because housing is (being) built too close to the track

even the Circuit at Assen had to cut down the number of laps for amateur bikeraces
so they can still host the MotoGP and SBK
Bloody hell, it's been there for 75 years when Assen itself was 3 bloody farms and a church
Assen friggin owes it's growth progress to the track

I'd like to kick the buggers who knowingly go live next to a track and then complain about noise back to the stoneage

(and no BS: these days you can get kicked out of a trackday with a Bone-stock bike because it's making too much noise)

Seriously WTF is the world coming too. Next sneezing will be outlawed in libraries :wtf

over here it is acceptable for cars to be as loud as they want with theyre big rally typr exhausts but a loud can on a bike is not??

personally i think loud cans save lives... makes other road users ... ie idiot car drivers more aware of your presence

bikers are plainly just picked on because of theyre portraid image of bike gangs

just worked for me Grandevil!

I see where the problem comes from. I was just downtown with some friends, and the Ruff Ryders rolled in. Every single one of them was revving up over 10K RPMs as they coasted in with the clutch pulled. :rolleyes :squid

I'd call them a bunch of ****, but I'd hate to drag any actual homosexuals down by inferring any sort of connection.

For what it's worth, one of the towns about 20 miles from here has an ordinance like that. I've never been there on a motorcycle or in my old camaro, or my last pickup, all of which are in violation of their noise law, so I'm not sure how much they enforce it. I do know that lots of yuppie spawn ricer kids live nearby, so I can only imagine that's why they enacted the ordinance.

Around here, the only really loud bikes are Harleys, and I think they SHOULD be regulated. Those bastards set off car alarms a block away.

Even the loudest sport bikes pale in comparison when it comes to the noise those a-holes make. It especially sucks when they rumble by the house at 3am.

How about Denver, they got it the worst the poor bastards. I think its another way to make or force (should i say) revenue. I still have oem exhaust but soon im getting HR1, i hear its one of the loudest pipes going. I also dont think that bullshit law will hit chicago, much much worse shit goin on than loud bikes. All the more reason to do trackdays! fuck'em

they will have to pry my yoshi can from my cold dead fingers.
this shit is getting ridiculous.
how did this country start as a strong FREE nation and transition to a bunch of pussies that cry about everything. STFU and live your life and stop worrying about mine.

You are wrong. A car driver who has the windows up and maybe music on WILL NOT hear you unless he's BEHIND you. Ever gotten passed by a motorcycle while driving? When did you hear it?

Always assume all cagers are blind, deaf and retarded - then you have a reasonable chance...

I think when the fucking cops stop parking in front of fire hydrants to go in a deli to get their lunches, and when they actually consistently enforce the music noise ordnance, then maybe I won't tell them to go fuck themselves about my bike being too loud. They can

Apparently none of you have ever experienced loud bikes interrupting your lives. Down the street from my old apartment was a bar with a pretty good sized bike night. All night, there were loud bikes coming and going to the bar. With my windows closed and the air on, there were times I couldn't hear my own television because of the loud pipes. My apartment didn't face the street and it was set back about 100 ft from the road. The real fun started at 2:00 am when the bar closed. All the drunk asses would line their bikes up and try to drag race past my place. Everyone in the neighborhood was pissed. Only a few of us owned bikes, but we all had to suffer from the noise. Our lives were disrupted on a weekly basis. The highway patrol made quite a bit of money busting them, but they couldn't even make a dent in the noise problem.

As far as our sportbikes being quiet, BULLSHIT!!!!! Although the Harleys make noise, it doesn't carry as far as sportbike blasting down the interstate just below the rev limiter. About two miles from my house is an interstate. On any given night, I can open my window and hear the sportbikes blasting down the road, and you know what, I can never hear Harleys or v-twins going down the interstate.

While I am on a roll, the worst sounding bikes on the road are the jap v-twin harley wannabies. The motors will never sound like a Milwaukee bike. They sound like shit, then putting on a set of 2" diameter pipes with no baffles spreads the noise so everyone can hate it.

As far as loud pipes saving lives.... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! What a crock of shit. It is sort of like saying wearing a helmet is dangerous. Loud pipes are not going to get someone's attention and prevent them from turning left in front of you or pulling out in front of you. The only thing loud pipes do is to help identify the ASSHOLES!

I can understnd the late night stuff cuz people are trying to sleep, but during the day, who cares, most people are at work anyways. If they're going to start crackin down on loud bikes then do it from 10pm-4am, cuz other from those times, I think its awesome to hear bikes going by! I live like 50 feet from a main road and plenty of loud bikes go by since its quite a nice ride up here. The noise never bothers me unless it wakes me.
