I have k9 600 and want to install track fairings. I found 2nd hand one's from a k6 model. Will they fit? I know that the tail and front lights differ between k6 and k9 but since fairings are for track there are no light cut-outs to worry about.

Thanks guys...

I did try a 2nd hand K6 set. The back fits fine but in the front the airducts are a problem.

MacBayne, I just went through your post rgd k7 fairiings. As I suspected, perhpas the solution is to get a set of K6/7 airducts? Will these fit into the k9 frame? I'm also worried that the undertray will not fit?

Kartl, can you elaborate on the safety issues?

yes, you need the ducts and yes, they fit. the frames for 06-10 are identical, the same as the top yoke.

undertray? do you mean the lower fairing? they will fit, depending on brand. for example, hotbodies will fit a stock exhaust w/cat converter still on, but sharkskinz will not. i have a shorty akra on my k6, and i had to dremel some of my sharkskinz off in that area.

tell me what brand and model you have, or post pics if you don't know and i will steer you in the right direction.

STG has a two-for-one sale on hotbodies kits. you could sell the second set pretty damned fast and end up paying like 200 for a complete set of fairings. not bad. i would bet your place that sells cheap kits cannot beat that.

best deal on bodywork out there is armourbodies though. they are $700 at the same quality as some kits worth 1000-1200. remember that if you buy a cheap set of no-name raceglass, it will not be resilient and durable so i n the end, cost you more down the line. you will crash, and top-dollar fairings are top-dollar for a reason.

if you can find used sharkskinz, that would be the bast bang for your buck.

no matter what, though, remember that you can buy 06-10 raceglass and if you need to buy ram air ducts, you will find them for about $10-$20 for the pair.

$200 is cheap indeed, but I stay in South Afirca so transport + import duties will probably double that price.

In SA can get for about $250-300, none of the brands you've mentioned but some of the guys that have been on track a bit longer than me say quality is good.
