I almost bought some 1000 Ti headers on Ebay but I realized that the header and midpipe on my bike are welded, and I am not sure you can weld Ti and SS so I changed my mind and just bought some exhaust wrap.

I think you would have to bolt on the whole 1000 exhaust.

Yes the 2003-04 GSX-R1000 header does fit on the 2004-05 600s and 750s.

I'll post more pictures if you want. Gimpsta said that there's a 7lb. difference between the 2 exhausts. If your'e gonna do the swap you'll need the 1000 midpipe also. Cause like Mr. Potato Head said, the 600/750 exhaust is 1 piece (header and midpipe) while the 1000 is a true slip on configuration (2 pieces, header is seperate from midpipe). Don't worry about the SET valve; without the cables hooked up it's disabled and the valve stays open.

Here's a picture comparing the two exhausts...
The 600 exhaust is on the left... 1K on the right

Here's the header/midpipe conjunction for the 600 exhaust:

Here's the same header/midpipe conjunction for the 1000 exhaust:

When I bought my header/midpipe combo off eBay, the damage came out to $120 shipped.
I've got an extra 2003 1K header if anyone wants it... it just needs to be cleaned up.

No i didn't I just like the look. I personally like that its smoother up on the top end. The 7lbs was a difference of the whole set of headers/mid and exhaust.

But i love the discolorations as you get the mid pipe hott.

Is it just my bad eyesight or do the secondary pipes on the 600 header on the left look to be of a significantly larger diameter than the 1000 header on the right?

it just bolts up.

u hve to loosly put the headers to the engine block then attack the bolt under the rear set.

Then u can tighten down the headers to the engine.

I think it's just the lighting in the picture, up close the 1000 header has slightly larger secondary pipes. I swapped the header for the fact that you have a larger selection of slip-ons plus I talked to a couple exhaust companies that don't make a header (IXIL in particular) and they said that most of the 600 and 750 riders are swapping to the 1K header as a poor man's "full exhaust" system.
