Hi

Can someone please tell me the size of the nut for a sump on a gsxr 750 2005 model?

1/2? 1/4 inch? ??

I need to know what size torque wrench to get.. thanks!

And i torque it to 20N/M ?

It's metric. Probably 17mm. Dude..... don't work on your own bike. You bought a 1/2" drive torque wrench. I doubt it goes down low enough for the 16.5 foot pounds on the oil plug.

if you are talking about the oil drain plug, it is a 17mm socket, and you only need a 3/8" drive torque wrench for it. it only needs to be torqued to 16.5ft/lb.

Thanks guys... I've tried a 17mm wrench on it before and it didnt do it. Had a bit of looseness...I used my friends torque wrench and nut before and now buying my own.

The wrench goes from 5ft.Lbs to 300Ft.Lbs :)

I bought it half price, not knowing exactly what I needed.. So all good!

be very careful, torque wrenches with a wide range of adjustment are not very accurate.

and 17mm should fit on there perfectly unless you have a crappy set of sockets. stick with snap-on, or if you don't have a lot of money to spend, husky from home depot isn't too bad.

yes, but you will need a 3/8" to 1/2" drive adapter for the large socket you would use on your rear wheel.

With a 3/8 drive and a 1/2 drive you've got most everything covered.

I really only use the 1/2 drive on the axle nuts. My 3/8 handles most everything else, like caliper bolts, valve cover bolts, etc. I used a 1/4 drive for everything under the valve cover.

ya that rear is like a 32mm or a 1 1/4" - yes some of standard fit better then the metric do haha - but i could be confusing the size of the rear axel nut and the front sprocket nut....
