Just wondered if any one had tried fitting a gsxr600 gearbox to a 750?
What are the differences if you noticed any?
the reason i ask is i have a 600 and a 750 engine in bits and am in the process of rebuilding it and wondered what it would be like with the 600 gearbox in the 750 motor.

No problem the shafts etc are the same, just check it all fits.
Ther is some difference in ratios, the 750 has different ratios depending on wheather it's a carbed or injected model. Injected model has closer ratios and all but 6th is taller than the carbed model.

The 600 ratios are the same as the 750 carbed model with 2 very important exceptions, 5 & 6th are lower, so if your not interested in top end, and are more interested in the twisties upto 145 >> 150 then its a good swap as you can correct most with gearing. Unless you do a lot at Snetterton, not many tracks call for 150+.

Ratios
750 inj 750 carb 600
2.625 2.866 2.866 1st
1.950 2.058 2.058 2nd
1.565 1.650 1.650 3rd
1.363 1.428 1.428 4th
1.227 1.260 1.285 5th
1.120 1.120 1.181 6th

By the way check www.Bikebandit.com for the micro fiche and compare the part numbers if your not sure or just offer the parts up.

cheers lads.
I have fitted the gearbox and it fits fine. I checked the manual and 5 and 6th are lower which will be excellent as the engine has had some work done and will be used for my Srad streetfighter project.
