if i get my bike re-dynoed on u4 is that all i should run from then on? will it throw off the mapping if you run a lower octane?

octane is how well gas RESISTS igniting. It's harder to burn higher octane so if you run too high of octane you'll lose horse power and gum up the engine. Most hp and best octane to run is the LOWEST you can w/o causing damage to the engine.

I have ran all types of gas in mine. I am noticed a difference in real high 100+ test. I also noticed it ran about 5 degrees hotter. I have not dyno'd mine yet, but I would say 87 is the best. I mean , after all, our bikes were factory tuned with that octane.

I also have done a bit of research of my own. I race drags, so this topic is kind of a hot topic. There is typically NO difference between 87-91 octane. Dyno proven. 93 octane by itself is fine. A 2/1 ratio of 93+100 is nice. 100 octane tends of make the motor run lean. That is with 4 cylinder motors though. I am sure it isnt too far from the same on ours.

yup the lowest octane without detonating.

87 for 600s works great on mine, felt no different running 89 or 93 other than lighter wallet.

and my 1k calls for at least 90 octane according to the manual dont have that only 89 mid or 93 prem. so i use 93.

My 750 had a sticker on the gas tank saying to use premium only. thats 93 to me.
