Hello guys, just looking for some thoughts or advice about the proper way to use the the quickshifter feature in our bikes. l mostly ride on town roads so the QS is unnecessary but when l turn it on in open highways or twisty roads l really don't feel the softness of the gears being engaged, in particular when moving from 1st to 2nd gear (sometimes l get neutral, so annoying).
l though the QS mode 1 was too rough so l put it on mode 2. However, l still feel the gear dogs kicking in too hard, l don't feel comfortable thinking I'm stressing the gearbox components too much.
The questions are,
First: Am l kicking the shift lever to soft and that's why l get neutral instead of 2nd? Some Aprilia guys say the manual does not recommend using QS from 1 to 2 and low revs, maybe our gsxr is similar.
Second: Am l doing something wrong or is it normal to feel and hear the gears engagement even with the QS on? l don't want to wear anything. This is my fist bike with quickshifter so l'm an old fashion clutch shifting guy from a 2008 R6.
Third: Do you guys know if using the quickshifter saves clutch or extends the lifespan of the clutch plates?
Thank you all!
