K is a year model designation given by Suzuki. The number corresponds to the year model of bike. For example your K1 is a 2001, a K2 is a 2002, a K8 is a 2008. Just like that.

I've got a quick question about my bikes model.

It's a 2000 GSXR600. It's a FI model. It says K on it. BUt when i check the pictures it looks more like a K1(2001) model. SO..... If i was to follow the manual or buy parts for my bike would I buy it for the 2000 or 2001 model? Since they are slightly different.

The reason I ask is that I need to get a Stator generator for my bike. The model number for the 2000 and 2001 are different but looks pretty much the same. Do I get the 2000 model Stator or the 2001 model Stator?

....Ermmmm....niether did I mention checking the Owner's Manual, NOR do I have one to check. I'd like to have one though.

I've got a Australian Made GSXR600

The 10th digit is a "0"(ZERO).

At the end of the VIN it actually has a "K".

It's not a SRAD 2000 model. It's a EFI model. Looks more like a 2001 than a 2000 model.

I need to get a Stator Generator for it and dont know if I should be getting the 2000 or 2001 model one. Any chance they will both fit on my bike?

But yeah im still trying to figure out the model of it.

It's EXACTLY the same as a 2001 GSXR 600.

I think it might be a late 2000 model so it might be a 2001.

Any idea if the 2000 Stator will fit on my bike then?

Well I went to the dealership. It seems that I have a a "LATE" 2000 model but consider as a K1. So really I have a K1. It's like a early release in late 2000.

Now the question is that the Stator I bought from a 2000 GSXR600 (think it was from a SRAD) which I thought was the same as mine will fit on my bike or not since mine is ACTUALLY a K1.

Hrmmmmm.. Anyone know if it's compatible? If the 2000 stator will work on the K1???

they look the same? lol

Well I guess i have to remove it this weekend to see. Hey If it fits should it work like normal or it may cause some DAMAGE to my bike???

So if the bike was a 2000 model it would just depend on when it was manufactured as to whether it is a k or not?
