Im working on getting this 02 gsxr 600 engine running for my gsxr kart. I bought the engine from a wrecked bike and never saw it running, but it seemed to be in great shape. Well I replaced a few things (stator, stator cover, plugs, oil, filter, ecu, rectifier) and Ive been trying to get it to start up. Well I disabled a few things since I wont be neededing them ie put silicon in the TOS, removed the kick stand switch by twisting the two wires together, along with the same for the clutch switch. Well I determined the reason for the pump not working (the fuel pump relay is bad) so I removed it and Im still not getting spark. Would I get spark if the fuel pump relay is removed/bad? Is that the proper way to bypass the side stand switch? Thanks for the help Im a bike noob, in fact Ive never even ridden one

okay I have no idea what Im talking about but after reading the manual and doing some probing these are my findings. Also keep in mind I dont have that peak voltage thing so I dont know if that matters. I tested for voltage from the CKP when turning over but when I did resistance test I got about 170. When probing the White & Green/Whites off of the harness when cranking I got nothing. What do you guys think? Voltage in the battery is good, just charged it.

the ecm will not allow the bike to start or run without a signal from the fuel pump relay. If you've removed it, you need to reinstall it, or substitute an appropriate resistance to simulate it's presence.
Ive put it back in even though its faulty and it wont spark still. Will it need to be a good relay for it to spark? I have one on order. Thanks for the help I hope its nothing serious.

Also might I note that I had to "hotwire" it as I didnt have the ignition. Ive heard that some of the ignitions have a diode or something in there to prevent that. Is this the case?
well, that's one problem. You can't simply just hotwire the bike. I won't go into details on how to get around the anti-theft feature... I don't want to make life easy for any thieves that may brouse these pages. What I can say is that if you have a service manual and some electrical knowledge, it isn't very difficult.

While I just paid someone to ship me their ignition switch to hopefully solve the problem Id still rather not have more wires/stuff hanging off the harness than I have to. Ive looked at the manual and it mentions no more than simply the wires that go into the switch. If you would like to enlighten me on how to bypass the ignition that would be great (shoot me a PM), but if not I still have an ignition on the way. I hope that was the problem all along.
