So I'm trying to find a OEM clip on for my 08 GSX R 600 and I was wondering if anyone knows where I can find just a single right OEM clip on for less than $130? I found one used on Ebay for $30 and I'm kicking myself because I got to it too late. My husband dropped the bike and now the handlebar/clip on whatever it's called, is broken and since he's now deployed I'm stuck fixing it and I don't want to get ripped off. This is what I'm looking for...

I'm in desperate need of some help.

Where are you from?

Also check out the WERA forum, forums.13x.com . Lots of people sell their OEM parts when they buy a bike and build it for the track. I sold all of my parts over there and I think I sold my clip ons for $50 per side.

Florida, and thanks. I'll look on there. The bike is in need of some cosmetic work so I'm going to need a couple stuff. It's stuck in storage now, but I'm going to get some pictures tomorrow and post them, because I REALLY don't want to order parts from the dealer and I need some help.

after market clipons cost about the same as oem and are usually adjustable which is nice. just something to think about.

Truth, aftermarket clip ons are cheaper.

Have you installed a set? She said she's a woman that is frustrated witht he situation - I'd say installing aftermarket clip ons is maybe 10x more difficult than bolting on a replacement. Plus, even if you get them installed correctly, they don't have anywhere near the same feel as stock ones.

My gsxr is a track bike and I'm using the Driven clip ons - but I had to modify the brake fluid reservoir, drill and tap a hole for the resivoir, etc. Plus, they transfer a TON more front-wheel feedback. I use paper thin grips, and I want this feedback - but for a street bike I want the stock feel, as it's much much smoother than any aftermarket kit.

Plus you don't have to worry about pitch, angle, etc - it's all set for you with the tab on the clip-on.

might as well by some aftermarket clip ons like woodcrafts. bars itself are replaceable for like $10 in case they break again in the future instead of replacing the entire clip on. cheaper in the long run & cheaper then oem

Yeah that's why I want to get just a simple OEM one. I'm also 4'11" and after having it lowered its just barely perfect for me and I'm just hesitant to go with anything different. I'd LOVE something better if possible...but since I have to either do it myself or have someone else do it...I dunno that after market ones would be a good choice. I guess that's why I'm on here. I just need to figure out the best route to go. Thanks for the advice.

for your bike i would recommend the woodcrafts or driven as they are made specifically for your model of bike a 50/48mm clipons. I'm not sure if vortex makes one specifically for your bike, but I dont' think so. I know woodcraft and driven do and those are the only two I know of, but there might be others. for your bike though 06-09 GSXR 600/750 you don't want to buy them buy size, but for your bike as they are specifically made to fit that model of bike as the standard sizes have issues.

Is what 513Speed said about the feel true? Will after market clipons change how the bike rides? Since I'm a smaller girl...I'm hesitant to change too much about how it rides since I'm comfortable with it now.

Do Woodcrafts or Driven's have mounting for the brake fluid reservoir? My Driven's do not, perhaps they have been updated. Plus, the little ring that fits under the collar on the driven's isn't perfect, and she's not a mechanic.

You have to make a lot of inferences when installing aftermarket clip ons. It wouldn't be immediately clear to her which collar goes on which side, etc - not to mention the angle is adjustable and would feel significantly different for her. Plus, both the driven and woodcraft are about 2" wider than stock. I prefer the wider clipons - it's much easier to turn the bike on the track, but with her shorter arms, it's just farther away (and lower).

Anyone with aftermarket clip ons know they buzz like a motherfucker - which isn't necessarily a bad thing - but for a 4'11" chick on a street bike (probably still learning to ride) I'd strongly suggest against it.

RRaider - it's a clear decision for you or I. The first time I broke a clip on, I went straight to aftermarkets. I spend maybe 15 days per season on the track, you probably a bit more. She probably won't burn her OEM tires in a season. In her situation, I would go with OEM.

It won't change the way the bike "rides", but you will get more feedback through the bars, and depending on your bar ends, you will get a lot more vibration. Lots of people bitch about the vibration on these bikes stock but I think it's pretty smooth. My driven's buzz atleast 3x more and my bar ends are on the heavy side.

Thanks! I was pretty sure that I wanted to stick to OEM but everyone keeps suggesting after market so I figured I'd look into to it, but that's all I needed to know. I've only been riding for less than a year, so the last thing that I want is to have a different feel. I love it how it is now. I'm going to have help changing the clipon out, but the less I have to depend on someone else to figure it out, the better I'll feel about it.

I have some more questions but I'll ask them tomorrow after I get some pictures of the damage. Thanks for all of your help!

Honestly I would never worry about going aftermarket. Alot of people do it and always are here for help. If you get stuck, take pictures, post, and wait. There are alot of people on here with alot of knowledge, and they will have the advice to help you through almost any project you try. Just take your time, read the direction (if any) and ask questions and thats how you become more familar with your bike.

I do not think Suzuki has changed the clip ons for the 600/750 in years so look for any recent year on ebay as 513speed post makes allot of sense.

No the driven and Woodcraft do not come with a brake fluid res mount.

Woodcraft has a universal bracket that clamps onto the bar for the brake reservoir. I didn't notice any increased feedback from the bars compared to the stockers but when I switched grips I did.

As for the OEM clipons I just looked at mine and it isn't stepped like the aftermarket ones so I would follow rraiders advice and look at the 06/07 OEM clipons as well.

If you are still interested in stock clip ons, I have them. I installed Helibars on mine and have no use for the stock ones. Just pay for the shipping and I'll get them out to you.
ARE YOU SERIOUS?!?! AHH!! That would be perfect!! Since there's other stuff that I need to fix on the bike I'm trying to save as much money as possible. I'll send you a private message with my information and just let me know how much. Thanks so much!!
