Situation:
My friend has an 06 GSX-R 600. We went to race one day but he couldn't because his FI light kept coming on. So we called it a day and he called the dealership. He just made it 5 days before his warranty ran out. He dropped it off at the shop for the work. He called yesterday and they told him that because they did a lot of work on it that they were going to have to charge him $35. :wtf . For what?! Warranty work. I would think that it had to be covered under warranty because this bike is totally bone stock. Not even so much as an air filter so I know it was nothing he put on to make it do that. They told him that they were doing him a favor because they only charged him for 1/2 hour. Charged him for labor even though it is still covered under warranty.
Question:
Can they do this?
What if he refuses to pay for it and they threaten to keep his bike, what is the next step?
Could we take it up with someone higher then the owner?
This sounds like total bullshit. I think that they are not making enough money off of the warranty so they are trying to stick it to him.
