Help with stoppie

I've been doing my research on how to do a stoppie.
Finally got the nerves to attempt it the other day, but can seem to get it right.

I would get up to 45 mph and lightly squeeze the front brakes to preload the shocks and them grab it hard, but the back end wouldnt lift up.
The front just keep rooling and has an awkward shutter or skipping kind of feel.

I'm sitting close to the tank with my knees gripping it for dear life. learned the hard way the last time I slammed on my breaks because of a dumbass trucker who pulled out in front of me!

I need some advise as the next time I need to stop quickly I'll be prepared or at least know what to do and freak out.

If your gripping the tank then kinda "jump" to move your weight forward over the tank more. Pull up with you feet/knees. also when you preload as soon as you see the forks go down squeeze hard on the brake then once you feel the back lift let off a little and feather the brake. Just like wheelies and throttle control you need brake control for stoppies and it takes TIME. You'll get it just keep practicing.

Haha My bike is no were near pretty. I picked it up two weeks ago with half the front end missing as well as all the plastics. It had no tank and a crack front wheel.

I swapped most of the parts off my track bike that I picked up for cheap.

My bike is primered...so I dont care if I drop it. In fact during my lunch break I dropped my bike after hitting a patch of pebbles in the middle of the overpass, while crossing from one side of the base to the next. Broke the left rear pass peg. Nothing a fresh coat of paint cant fix.

Thanks for the tips, I'll keep working it.
