try turning it over by hand, if it dont something inside might be broken. look for damage on the motor outside.......does it make noises when it tries to turn or just nothing. if nothing check grounds and all electrical connections and voltage from battery.

had this problem w/ my 03' 600...during winter last year I could get a neutral light, but the engine would not turn over and the ignition switch didn't seem to do anything. Thought it was electrical, but took it to the shop and found out it was the clutch sensor switch that cost like $8. I said screw it and just had them bypass the switch. Only thing this causes is that the bike can be started in any gear, not just neutral...so be careful

seeing as you bypassed the TOS did you bypass/or test with a multimeter) to see if the kickstand switch is working...
check the clutch switch too (test the back of the switch with a multimeter)
Failing that check the output of the GPS (gear position sensor) and check against the manual that you are getting the correct resistance for neutral.
Are all the fuses good? --- did you check every single one
Have you checked every single wiring connection in accordance withe manual?
its unlikely that the neutral light circuit is damaged within the speedo -----have you checked the little light bulb for the neutral light?

If you leave the ignition on and jump start the starter motor will the bike start and run?
if it does then its just the starter circuit if it doesnt then its most likely an interlocking circuit eg; kickstand switch, clutch switch, other sensor somewhere

If you have checked all of the above and everything is in order then proceed
Presuming that you have actually got a service manual...
Check that you are recieving the correct voltages at the ecu
refer to the manual for all interlocks and check all switches continuinity with a multimeter
check your start switch relay
...
have a go with that and let us know...its easier for me to diagnose a problem with all this info

I know that this is probably a dead thread, but I thought I'd post a recent discovery on my K2 750.

I recently dropped the poor thing in the driveway on it's right side, idling in neutral, after which I couldn't restart. I pushed the bike back into the garage and proceeded to diagnose every damned sensor on the bike and everything checked out fine (including TOS). The only code being displayed on the dash (dealer mode or not) as "CHECK". As I was getting ready to dig into the gear position sensor, I noticed that the neutral light wasn't on (though it was *mechanically* in neutral), so as I fussed with trying to get into "true" neutral, I rocked the rear wheel (clutch out) back and forth, then suddenly heard a clunk/click, after which I could find a "true" neutral again and the light came back on, then everything was fine again.

I figured that after a two week period of pulling my hair out that this might save some other folks some time/heart ache/$$$ in diagnosis, as it seems the GPS sensor or neutral switch is pretty easily jarred in even a minor tip over.
