Hi all,

I have a 2011 gsxr 600 and I have an FI code of C65. I have put the bike in dealer mode three times to confirm since I can't find this code anywhere online.( I don't have a service manual yet) Does anyone know what code this is and is there maybe some added fi codes from the 2011 models compared to the 2010 models? Any help is greatly appreciated folks!!

Thanks for the link!! I went and found the fault codes and there is no C65. Shit... I have a mechanic that I trust with my bike, but I may have to take it to the dealer if I can't even figure out what C65 means. This is my first GSXR and I am starting to get peeved with my little beast already. Any one ever heard of this elusive C65? Thanks,

Cole

The link Chugs posted has a 2011-2012 link to the manual... Maybe that website says it's a 2011-2012 when it really is not?? I'll click on the "2011-2012 ma Hal again answer what year the actual page says it is...

I should also mention that this a 600 that is all stock, except I pulled the servo cables, number 5 brown and black wire from the ecu and left the servo plugged in.

The bike will start and run fine with no fi light and about thirty mins into a ride the bike will start idliling low when stopped and will die when coming to a stop. Any ideas? Thanks again,

Update!!

I little while back I bought aftermarket levers and had to dremel down the clutch saftey sensor pin that is engaged and disengaged by the clutch lever. By doing this the clutch sensor pin was never fully pushed back in telling the sEnsor the clutch was not being used.

I ran the wires to a toggle switch and the bike is running great now with no FI light. Hopefully this will help someone that maybe makes the same mistake as I did.

Hey cole123 I'm having a similar problem with my 2014 gsxr750. When the bike is warmed up it will pop on the fi light, and when I pull in the clutch the idle will either drop real low for a second or the bike will die. I noticed the previous owner had bypassed the clutch safety switch by putting the 2 wires together. I can't get the codes because I can't find any info on dealer mode or a list of codes... So does anybody have the list of codes and info on how to put the bike into dealer mode?

Thanks Samantha. I live in Texas too. Where are you from? Yes I've searched for dealer mode and looked through several forums but haven't found any info on it. And yea I've read about it putting the bike into neutral map mode or whatever they call it

I'm from the Tyler area. And the link you sent is for a 2008. I'm looking for info on the 2011 and up since I have a L4 and not a K8. I have been searching in the forums for 2011 to present and reading through the forums that come up and haven't found any info on how to put it in dealer mode or a list of codes. I know there is a connector under the seat and that you can put it in dealer mode by connecting 2 circuits.. That's all I've found. I've tried different variations of "L4 dealer mode" "2014 dealer mode" "dealer mode" "how to put bike in dealer mode" "list of codes in dealer mode" and the same forums keep popping up. If you can help me find the info I need then please do so. And I wanted to post on here instead of looking on you tube. I figured somebody has posted this info on here somewhere but idk because I can't find it

10-4. I didn't know the dealer mode connector and ecm were the same. I figured there may have been some small changes. I work out of town so I'll have to fix the clutch safety switch and put it in dealer mode next time I'm home. Thanks for your input Samantha

Just make sure when you do put it in dealer mode, that you dash is alternating temp with FI (unless you have a dedicated FI light) and that you not turn off the engine at the ignition or kill switch or the code is erased. Then you will need to wait till the next time the FI light comes on.

Gotcha. Okay so then I have another problem besides the clutch switch. I figured. Must be from the cat being removed and the voodoo slip on that came with the bike. I got a PC5 coming so that should get rid of the fi light from the cat being removed. I'm still going to pull the codes with dealer mode to see what it says

The cat doesn't trigger the the FI either. You may very well have a C46 which is for the set-valve either being out of adjustment or maybe even disconnected. On earlier models you could pull a wire from the ecu to eliminate the Fi but if that is your code, you need to get a servo buddy that fools the ecu into thinking that the set-valve is working but we are putting the cart before the horse. Also, dealer mode is used to check the TPS if it is properly adjusted or needs adjustment. I recommend you buy a dealer mode switch which makes everything easier.

I'm not real familiar with these ecu's on bikes so thanks for helping me out. I've worked on cars for a while and there can be several different codes pertaining to catalyst efficiency and o2 sensor codes and even exhaust gas flowing too fast.. So I figured the cat removal would have thrown some kind of code. I will look into that and make sure the set valve actuator is plugged in.. But like you said we don't need to put the cart before the horse. I thought using a jumper wire to put the bike in dealer mode was the same as using the dealer mode switch? Either way will get the codes to pop up on the instrument cluster, so long as the fi light is illuminated right?

Correct. The dealer mode switch just makes it easier and quicker to put in dealer mode. If you use a paperclip, be sure it doesn't touch anything metal.

Also the images you sent for the list of codes didn't work. It says broken image. I appreciate your help Samantha
It shouldn't be a link, it should show as a picture?

It case you didn't get an answer. A C65 is an out of range idle speed. It should only show up if the throttle is closed and the engine idle is outside the 1200-1400 rpm range (too low or too high). I've also have seen this code appear when an aftermarket clutch lever is installed the the clutch switch is not properly engaged by the lever. When the clutch lever is pulled, the switch cause the ECU to switch to a neutral gear fuel map, and when the clutch is released, the switch notifies the ECU to switch to the gear fuel mapping.
