My 1986 GSXR 1100 has a cam problem, only one

intake cam lobe seems to be overheating.(blue in color)What would cause this? If I correct the problem,How Long could I run it with one blue cam lobe before replacing the camshaft?

let me guess its on the right side of the motor and you start the bike on the kick stand
Image

its lack of oil upon start up
Image
it takes longer to get the oil up to the top
Image
you need a top end oiler
the cam can be cleand up or get some aftermarket ones

Yes a common problem. Web can re-grind the cam (don't go stock grind) and APE can harden and re-chrome the rockers, The stock rockers have weak chrome and it will start to flake and ruin the new cam grinds.
Any time it has to come apart you might as well make it better.
