C42 Fault Code on GSXR750 K6

In Australia.

So when my son had his little crash the other day he managed to smash the key to bits but not break it, basically it is now a steal pick with a key shape on one end but it still works.
My problem is it is the only key we have and I'm lead to believe it is / was chipped to talk to the ECU.

We've swapped the engine out into a new frame and it will not start, I ran the fault codes and got a C21 and C42, the C21 is the Air Intake Temperature sensor which is irrelevant.
But the C42 is the Ignition Switch Signal or the Immobiliser.

When we hit the key it sounds like a very short prime but it doesn't send any fuel or start obviously, it does crank over nicely though which we were pleasantly surprised about.

So the question is how do I bypass the immobiliser and stop the C42 code so the bike can start ? There's got to be a simple fix for track bikes, surely this happens often enough.

The red key light on the dash is flashing quickly too.

Below is a video of the damage.

Until an Aussie or someone else from another part of the world chimes in, I would say for you to talk with a dealership to see what options you have. Do you have your key code or whatever number is assigned to your bike? In the U.S. we don't have immobilizers so not much I can advise that could be helpful.

We are about the 3rd or 4th owner and it only came with one key and no tag, so unfortunately it won't be that easy. I've read a few threads on putting a 100ohm resistor in line but none really say were about to do that in the 750. Thanks for the reply but the dealership will be the last stop, from what I can see they want your first born for a key and lock set.

Well then, time for a new ECU, ignition and keys, or ... I'll send you a PM.
Unfortunately as JK stated, you need new keys, locks and ECU as a matched set. Last person from Australia who had a similar issue, ended up paying $1,500aus for a new set from the dealer.

Ok so I tried taping the key head to ignition and wiring up a separate switch which turns all power to on however my k7 750 will not start this is in Aus.
Any ideas ?
Ignition switch is in the off position transponder taped to ignition and ignition switch bypassed however transponder areal still plugged in?

Hi I have a gsxr 600 k7, bought it as a project bike. I recently bought a used ecu with a key and ignition barrel. I’m getting an f1 code c42 my bike is equipped with an immobiliser. The seller said the key, barrel and ecu is off the same bike. I did notice there’s a plug thats not plug into anything not sure if this would be causing the c42 code. The plug has an orange with a white trace wire and a white with a green trace. Also attached a picture. Any help would be much appreciated

You're one of the few that lists the lead/tracer colors. That makes it easy to find in the service manual's wiring diagram. It's for the PAIR solenoid. You'll get a C49 error if it's not connected or a bypass resistor isn't installed in its place. I'm not sure what you mean by ignition barrel. Your ignition switch should have two connectors, both of which need to be connected. The immobilizer LED on the cluster flashes to signal whether communication is successful or not. It's described on 9-22 of the K6 750 manual, which I'd expect to be identical to the K7 600 manual. I don't have an immobilizer but videos that I've seen indicate that things happen quickly. Your bike should also have a connector for an external alarm with a bypass connector across it. It's under the seat. The bike won't run without the bypass.
