Any accident that the police attend someone gets booked. The only time they dont is if they say there is loose gravel or oil or something on the road... Face it, if you crash, you were doing something wrong!

I've had dozens of crashes on the road a lot of them requiring Police attendance due to me either being unconcious or in an ambulance.
I've never been booked over any of them. The two incidents involving another driver and a pedestrian (and had Police attend) the other parties were both charged.

I can't confirm it but I met an older fellow who was travelling across Australia and crashed on some gravel in a corner - not speeding or anything. Stopped at the next town to tell the Police about the danger and was charged with negligence for causing his own crash.

So really its up to the cops..... Sometimes you get a good one and they wont book you, other times you get a fat lazy plod who will book you anyway.....well i better start saving for my van.....that way this will never happen again
